Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Along-track scanners also use the forward motion of the platform to record successive scan lines and build up a two-dimensional image, perpendicular to the flight direction. However, instead of a scanning mirror, they use a linear array of detectors located at the focal plane of the image formed by lens systems, which are "pushed" along in the flight track direction(i. e. along track). These systems are also referred to as pushbroom scanners, as the motion of the detector array is analogous to the bristles of a broom being pushed along a floor. 3, record 2, English, - along%2Dtrack%20scanner

4, record 2, French, - dispositif%20de%20balayage%20longitudinal

Each HRV [High Resolution Visible] contains a pointable mirror apparatus which allows the imaging direction to be varied at user-selected angles. Each HRV imager has two sensing modes. They are known as the Multi-Linear Array(MLA) and the Panchromatic Linear Array(PLA) sensors. The MLA sensor captures data in three spectral bands : 500-590 nm, nominal ground resolution of 20 metres at nadir. The PLA sensor captures data in the spectral range 510-730 nm at a 10 metre nominal ground resolution at nadir. 1, record 4, English, - panchromatic%20linear%20array%20sensor

The LAMA telescope employs an array of fixed 10-meter liquid-mirror telescopes. These are located in a closely-packed configuration with an overall diameter of 54 meters. Approximately 62% of the light that falls within this area is collected and focussed on a common detector. This gives the array a light-collecting power equivalent to that of a 42-metre telescope. 6, record 5, English, - large%2Daperture%20mirror%20array

A working prototype of a segmented mirror is being built and assembled at this time. Prototype will consist of a spherical primary mirror composed of seven hexagonal segments, each measuring about 33 cm flat-to-flat. 2, record 6, French, - miroir%20segment%C3%A9
