MISCIBILITY PRESSURE [3 records]

Record 1 2001-11-06

English

Subject field(s)
  • Chemistry
  • Oil Production
CONT

If reservoir pressure is considerable below miscibility pressure, large volumes of CO2 will be needed to obtain miscibility.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Chimie
  • Production pétrolière
CONT

Record 2 2000-04-26

English

Subject field(s)
  • Oil Production
DEF

A method of fluid injection. This method requires that three fluids exist in the reservoir: the mobile oil to be displaced, a displacing fluid moving as a bank behind the oil, and a fluid injected for the sole purpose of propelling the displacing fluid through the reservoir.

DEF

A method of enhanced recovery in which various hydrocarbon solvents or gases (as propane, LPG, natural gas, or a mixture thereof) are injected into the reservoir to reduce interfacial forces between oil and water in the pore channels and thus displace oil from the reservoir rock.

CONT

The concept of miscible displacement of oil by CO2 has been known for many years ...

OBS

A miscible fluid is formed when injected CO2 mixes with reservoir oil... When miscibility occurs the forces of capillary pressure... disappear and the oil is then free to be carried forward to the producing well.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Production pétrolière
DEF

OBS

Terme officiellement recommandé par le Gouvernement français.

Record 3 2000-02-09

English

Subject field(s)
  • Oil Production
DEF

A miscible hydrocarbon displacement process consisting in the injection of a liquid hydrocarbon slug equivalent to about 5% PV followed by natural gas, or gas and water, in order to drive the slug through the reservoir.

CONT

... miscible slug flooding is best applied to reservoirs with the following characteristics : oil viscosity less than 5 cp... steeply dipping reservoir rock... homogeneous permeability less than 100 md, reservoir temperature below the critical temperature of the slug and sufficient pressure for miscibility...

French

Domaine(s)
  • Production pétrolière
OBS
