An example of the advanced technology employed in the Lance weapon system is its unique AN/GJM-24(XO-2) monitor/programmer, or MP. All the functions necessary to fire the missile are performed by the MP, which measures only 42X51X43 cm. This solid-state, combined analog and digital computer supplies pre-launch power to Lance from a 19-cell, 24v dc(direct current) Ni-Cad(Nickel-Cadmium) battery, it inserts range information into the missile guidance set before launch, controls the missile's safe, arming and firing mechanisms, and monitors the firing sequence.

The Harpoon weapons system is an anti-ship missile... The system consists of four Mark 141 launchers and sixteen RGM-84 missiles. Each of the launchers holds a battery of four missiles contained in armored ceramic canisters. The missiles are stored and fired from the canisters at a fixed angle.
