CSAR. Microgravity Sciences provided researchers and scientists from Canadian industry and universities with low-cost, high-quality microgravity flight opportunities aboard the Canadian Space Agency Rocket(CSAR), a Black Brandt rocket developed by Bristol Aerospace Ltd. The first rocket, CSAR-1, was launched in March 1992 and carried five experiments; CSAR-2 was launched in December 1994 and also carried five experiments. Both launches took place at the White Sands Missile Range in White Sands, New Mexico. The Canadian experiments onboard, subjected to six minutes of high-quality microgravity conditions, were designed to advance our understanding of the processes and behaviours of materials, which may lead Canada to improving product manufacturing on Earth and enhancing the development of erosion-resistant materials. 2, record 1, English, - Canadian%20Space%20Agency%20rocket

CSAR. 1, record 1, French, - fus%C3%A9e%20d%27exp%C3%A9rimentation%20de%20l%27Agence%20spatiale%20canadienne

Drilling vessels that are essentially of ship or barge type, of normal configuration and proportions, and which operate in all conditions as typical surface displacement vessels, are to have scantlings that meet the requirements of "Rules for Building and Classing Steel Vessels" or "Rules for Building and Classing Steel Barges for Offshore Service" of current issue. Floating drilling rigs are normally referred to as "drill vessels" or "drilling vessels" and are in the truest sense of the word "vessels." For a seafaring man, however, they differ in many respects from his general conception of a vessel. [As opposed to the traditional vessel,] the drill vessel often anchors for weeks and even months at one location. It may move only short distances from well to well. Seldom, if ever, does it need to visit port except for major repair or inspection. ... Many drill vessels, semi-submersibles for instance, cannot even be handled in present dry-dock facilities because of their size. 6, record 2, English, - floating%20drilling%20vessel

Vessel. Means every vessel which by means of its special outfit, purpose, design, or function engages in certain industrial ventures. Included in this classification are such vessels as drill rigs, missile range ships, dredges, cable layers, derrick barges, pipe lay barges, construction and wrecking barges. Excluded from this classification are vessels carrying freight for hire or engaged in oceanography, limnology, or the fishing industry. 6, record 2, English, - floating%20drilling%20vessel
