Victims of Violence Canadian Centre for Missing Children was founded in March of 1984 by families of abducted and murdered children. Victims of Violence is a national nonprofit, non-government funded charitable organization that was founded in 1984. We are dedicated to the prevention of crimes against children and in this respect to educating children on personal safety issues. We have a wide variety of child safety and educational materials available through our head office. Victims of Violence also helps victims of violent crime. We are equipped to deal with families and victims who are placed in the criminal justice system through no fault of their own.

International Project Return is a joint initiative among Revenue Canada, Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police that helps abducted children and runaways return to their homes. Revenue Canada has more than 3, 500 customs inspectors on the alert for abducted children and runaways at international airports and land border crossings. International Project Return is also part of a network of agencies from more than 40 countries. This network regularly exchanges information to help member agencies find missing children and reunite them with their families.

Le Projet retour international est un projet conjoint de Revenu Canada, de Citoyenneté et Immigration Canada et de la Gendarmerie royale du Canada, dont l'objet est d'aider les enfants qui ont été enlevés ou qui ont fait une fugue à retourner à la maison. À cette fin, plus de 3 500 inspecteurs des douanes de Revenu Canada, affectés au aéroports internationaux et aux postes frontaliers, redoublent de vigilance à l'égard des enfants enlevés et des fugueurs. Le Projet retour international fait également partie d'un réseau d'organismes situés dans plus de 40 pays. Ce réseau permet l'échange régulier de renseignements susceptibles d'aider les organismes membres à retrouver les enfants disparus et à les ramener dans leur famille.
