MMD [3 records]

Record 1 2025-05-29

English

Subject field(s)
  • Visual Disorders
CONT

Myopia, also known as nearsightedness, is a common refractive error that can be corrected with eyeglasses, contact lenses, or surgery. It is a growing concern, especially as more severe myopia is associated with a type of macular degeneration known as myopic macular degeneration(MMD). This degenerative condition specifically targets the macula, the central part of the retina responsible for central, straight-ahead vision.... Individuals with severe myopia, often referred to as "high myopia"(typically-6 diopters or more), are at a higher risk for developing MMD... MMD is an incurable condition that occurs when the elongation of the eyeball stretches the retina, leading to the eventual death of macular cells and the formation of a blind spot in the center of the visual field.

Domaine(s)
  • Troubles de la vision
CONT

CONT

The term mass median diameter(MMD) is sometimes used to describe aerodynamically equivalent spheres having an assigned density of 1. 00 g/cm³ at a 50% mass collection efficiency, as determined in samplers with spherical aerosol particles having a known, uniform size.

CONT

DEF

The median measurement of particle size for samples of particulate matter related to diameter size and thus mass.

CONT

The term mass median diameter(MMD) is sometimes used to describe aerodynamically equivalent spheres having an assigned density of 1. 00 g/cm3 at a 50% mass collection efficiency, as determined in samplers with spherical aerosol particles having a known, uniform size.... The determination of MMD is accomplished by plotting the log of particle size as a function of the percentage of particles smaller than the given size.

CONT
