A component responsible for modulating the pressure and therefore the braking force in direct response to control signals received from the controller.

CONT

As soon as a wheel locks during braking, the logic controller sends a signal to the modulator to reduce air pressure in the brake cylinder of that wheel, thus preventing the wheel from locking up.

A controller which positions the firing rate motor to automatically regulate the burner firing rate at a predetermined air-fuel ratio in accordance with load demand. It may position the air and fuel supplies for low fire or for high fire, or it may be a proportioning(modulating) type which gradually varies the air and fuel supplies within limits to meet the load demand.

the potentiometer in a modulating motor which forms part of a bridge circuit along with the controller potentiometer and balancing relay in the motor. When the wiper on the controller potentiometer moves due to a change in the controlled variable, the motor runs and drives the wiper on the feedback potentiometer in the proper direction to rebalance the bridge circuit. When the circuit is balanced, the motor stops.
