MODULATOR STAGE [4 records]

Record 1 2017-04-05

English

Subject field(s)
  • Radar, Radio Guidance and Goniometry
  • Information Processing (Informatics)
CONT

Because modulator rise times differ, triggers to each amplifier stage must usually be separately adjusted to provide proper synchronisation without excessive wasted beam energy... However, timing is not a problem with fully self-pulsing CFAs and is of concern only at the trailing edge of the pulse with dc-operated control-electrode CFAs.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Radar, radioguidage et radiogoniométrie
  • Traitement de l'information (Informatique)
CONT

English

Subject field(s)
  • Radio Transmission and Reception
  • Telecommunications Transmission
CONT

Low-power modulation. In an AM transmitter modulation of an RF stage prior to the final high-power stage. This system has the advantage that the modulator need only be of low power but the stage following the modulated amplifier must be linear to avoid distortion of the modulation envelope.

Key term(s)
  • low level modulation
  • low power modulation

Campo(s) temático(s)
  • Radiotransmisión y radiorrecepción
  • Transmisión (Telecomunicaciones)
DEF

Modulación de la portadora de un transmisor de radio efectuada en una etapa anterior al amplificador de radiofrecuencia final.

English

Subject field(s)
  • Radio Transmission and Reception
  • Telecommunications Transmission
CONT

High-power modulation. In an AM transmitter amplitude modulation of the carrier by introducing the modulating signal into the anode circuit of the final amplifying stage. The power of the modulating signal thus approximates to that at the transmitter output.

CONT

Modulation is also identified as to level. High level modulation occurs when the modulating voltage is applied to the collector/plate circuit of the final power amplifier. With high level modulation, the final stage is operated class C and the preceding stages are also operated class C. The overall efficiency of such a transmitter is very high. A disadvantage of high level modulation is that comparatively high audio power is needed and several stages of voltage and power amplification may be required in the speech amplifier and modulator circuits.

Modulación de la portadora de un transmisor de radio efectuada en el amplificador de radiofrecuencia final, normalmente en su circuito anódico.

CONT

The sub-modulator is transformer-coupled to the modulator comprising two valves M. A. 12/15000, which is also transformer-coupled to the anode-lead of the fifth H. F. [high frequency] stage, thus providing anode modulation in the H. F. power-amplifier stage.

Amplificador de baja frecuencia que precede inmediatamente al modulador en un transmisor.
