Ratio of the mass or volume of a solute to the mass or volume of the solution or solvent. It can be expressed in terms of molarity, molality, normality, or mol fraction. 2, record 1, English, - concentration
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
The rate of an enzyme reaction (V) varies with the substrate concentration, increasing with an increased concentration until a maximum value (Vmax) is reached. At this point, all enzyme molecules are fully occupied and the rate of reaction is limited by the rate of the catalytic process on the enzyme surface. For most enzymes, the concentration of substrate at which the reaction rate is half maximal (Km) is a measure of how tightly the substrates are bound, with a large value of Km representing a weak binding, and vice versa. 3, record 1, English, - concentration

Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
3, record 1, French, - concentration

One method used to assess the effect of ions on protein conformation is to measure the melting temperature(Tm) which is the midpoint of the reversible folding... unfolding transformation or order=disorder transformation. It can be illustrated by the thermally induced conversion of collagen from the triple helical order form to the disordered random coil conformation where Tm is the temperature at which the helical and the coil forms are equally stable. Tm decreases by about 16[ degrees c] per mole if calcium chloride is added and is approximately linear with molarity. The transformation can be followed by a plot of change in optical rotation against temperature. 3, record 2, English, - melting%20temperature
