Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Resin transfer molding (RTM) ... uses a closed mold, in two or more parts, usually made of glass-reinforced polymers or light metal alloys, with injection points and vents to allow air to escape. Reinforcement is cut to shape and placed in the mold, together with any inserts or fittings. The mold is closed and a low viscosity thermosetting resin (usually polyester) is injected under low pressure through a mixing head in which hardener is blended with the resin. 9, record 1, English, - resin%20transfer%20moulding
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 2 CONT
Resin transfer molding is increasingly used for large fiber-reinforced polymer components. Shapes can be complex. Ribs, bosses, and inserts are possible. Foam panels can be insert molded to reduce component weight. 9, record 1, English, - resin%20transfer%20moulding

Polystyrene foam comes in two major categories, expanded bead, and extruded. Expanded bead foam is made by superheating small pellets of styrene so that they rapidly expand(sort of like popcorn) to form a low density foam. Expanded bead foam is light(about 1. 5 pounds per cubic foot typically) and inexpensive, and because of the way it is made, lends itself to all types of molded products. It is the type of foam found in beer coolers and most contour packaging. It is also used as a cheap insulator. Because expanded bead foam has air pockets between the beads, it is less suitable for exterior use, for flotation, or for any application where water or water vapor can invade the air pockets between beads. 1, record 2, English, - expanded%20bead%20foam
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 2 CONT
Bead Foam. This material is produced from expandable polystyrene beads (granules) ... There are two methods used in the preparation of the beads. In one, polymer granules are heated with a blowing agent (usually a hydrocarbon) that penetrates them. In the second method styrene monomer is polymerized in the presence of a blowing agent so that the blowing agent becomes entrapped in the plastic beads.... The expandable beads are converted to foam as follows. They are subjected to heating by steam, hot water or hot air to give pre-expanded beads; aged (or conditioned) for a period of time; the pre-expanded beads again heated (in a mould) so that they undergo additional expansion, flow to fill the interstices (spaces between particles) and fuse. This results in an integral moulded piece. 2, record 2, English, - expanded%20bead%20foam

1, record 2, French, - mousse%20moul%C3%A9e

The structural foam pallet has a foam core and the high pressure molded pallet is solid plastic. Another area where plastic pallet proponents say wood doesn’t compare is space utilization. 1, record 3, French, - palette%20de%20mousse%20structur%C3%A9e
