A type of switch usually in the form of a push button that is only engaged while it is being depressed, as opposed to a typical "on/off" switch, which latches in its set position.

OBS

Momentary switches may be normally open or normally closed. A normally open switch doesn’t make contact until and unless it is held down. A normally closed switch is always making contact until the button is pushed.

When the APU master switch is moved from the off position at the momentary start position the door actuator will rotate driving the air inlet doors to full ram position.(Normally APU engine start will be made with doors in RAM position). As the doors start opening the ram door interlock switch closes and supplies power to the starter relay.

Toilet Motor-Pump and Filter Assembly. When the flush button is depressed, the pump-motor is energized through the timer, and the timer cycle starts.... The timer is a repeat-cycle type, actuated by momentary closing of the flush switch contacts.... Each actuation of the flush switch energizes the timer for one 10-second flush cycle.
