The ocean and the atmosphere form a complex coupled system, exchanging gases, water(and water vapour), particles, momentum, and energy at the air-sea interface. These exchanges affect the biological, chemical, and physical processes of the ocean and influence the water cycle, weather, and climate. The ocean affects Earth's climate through the long-term consequences of these exchanges. For example, the ocean is a gigantic reservoir for CO2 [carbon dioxide], which plays a critical role in shaping climate change. One approach to estimating how long someone has to live is referred to as the momentum of change. If someone's condition is changing from week to week, it's a good indication that there are only weeks of life left. If there are changes from one day to another, there are likely days of life left. When changes happen from one hour to another, there are usually hours left. This is a general guideline. 1, record 4, English, - momentum%20of%20change

Angular momentum is a vector quantity, requiring the specification of both a magnitude and a direction for its complete description … For a given object or system isolated from external forces, the total angular momentum is a constant, a fact that is known as the law of conservation of angular momentum. In the homogeneous equilibrium model (HEM) one assumes that the velocity, temperature and pressure between the phases or components are equal. 1, record 7, English, - homogeneous%20equilibrium%20model
Record number: 7, Textual support number: 1 OBS
This assumption is based on the belief that differences in these three potential variables(and chemical potential if chemical reactions are considered) will promote momentum, energy, and mass transfer between the phases rapidly enough so that equilibrium is reached. For example, when one phase is finely dispersed in another phase generating large interfacial area, under certain circumstances this assumption can be made; e. g., bubbly flow of air in water or steam in water at high pressures. The resulting equations resemble those for a pseudo-fluid with mixture properties and an equation of state which links the phases to obtain these mixture thermodynamic properties. Whenever the HEM model is used it is advisable to check the validity of the equilibrium assumptions by using more accurate theoretical models for comparison. For example, rapid acceleration or pressure changes cannot be always accurately modelled with the HEM model; i. e., discharge of flashing vapor-liquid mixtures, or shock wave propagation through a multiphase medium. This is especially true when the pressure change is large when compared to the ambient pressure, or any of the driving potentials are large relative to their reference values. 1, record 7, English, - homogeneous%20equilibrium%20model

gimballed momentum wheel : Better attitude control and energy storage can be achieved by using a pair of counter-rotating micro wheels. This configuration enables micro-satellites to change their angular momentum and orientation with very little net change in stored energy. Likewise, energy can be extracted or added to a pair of wheels without changing the satellite's attitude. Power can be saved while using a regenerative brake state to decrease the speed, or this braking energy can be used to accelerate the other micro-wheel rotating in the opposite direction in a gimballed momentum wheel. The fluxes between the Earth’s surface and the atmosphere are usually called surface fluxes. Many processes are involved such as evaporation from land and sea, warming and cooling of the earth, emission and deposition of gases and particles. These processes are vital to life and are being investigated in various scientific fields such as agriculture, bioclimatology, hydrology and meteorology. Surface fluxes traditionally are measured by instruments mounted on meteorological masts. Typical measurement data are wind speed, air temperature, air humidity and concentration of gases (eg CO2) and particles at several levels above ground. Calculation of surface fluxes are done by classical similarity-scaling equations on turbulent flow in the atmospheric boundary layer. This method applies only for large homogeneous landscapes (of the order of kilometers). 3, record 11, English, - surface%20flux

A device which makes use of a planet’s magnetic field to stabilise a satellite. 4, record 13, English, - magnetotorquer
Record number: 13, Textual support number: 1 CONT
The angular momentum of a tumbling orbiting satellite is changed to reduce the spinning of the spacecraft such that the spacecraft can operate in an essentially stabilized condition. The change in spin rate is accomplished by the development of a magnetic torque by commutation of magnetic air coils in response to Earth sensor signals controlled by spacecraft logic. The coils are disposed to produce magnetic dipoles transverse to the satellite spin axis such that by interacting with the Earth's magnetic field a torque is developed in a direction opposite the spin vector. The logic selects the proper magnetic dipole based upon data from sensors detecting the presence of the Earth for the development of the desired magnetic torque. 5, record 13, English, - magnetotorquer

If in a gravitational field you support a rotating body in only a single point that is not the center of gravity(center of mass), there is a torque acting on it; if the rotation is fast enough to be associated with a substantial angular momentum and the change in angular momentum effected by that torque is comparatively small, you will observe precession.
