Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 OBS
... blue moon ... For half a century, it’s been known as the second full moon in a month ... But that’s wrong ... The magazine [Sky & Telescope] incorrectly defined the term 53 years ago. James Hugh Pruett wrote a 1946 piece for the magazine after apparently misinterpreting a complex 1937 article in the Maine Farmer’s Almanac that essentially, but not clearly, said a blue moon occurs when a season has four full moons, rather than the usual three. Pruett mistakenly thought it meant having a second full moon within the same month. Pruett’s mistake went unnoticed for decades. ... Although Sky & Telescope’s editors think Pruett’s mistake led to the popular modern mis-definition of "blue moon," it’s unclear where the Maine Farmer’s Almanac came up with the rule. The almanac is defunct. Pruett died in 1955. ... By either definition -- Pruett’s or the almanac’s -- blue moons occur about every two or three years ... Although purists may subscribe to the almanac’s point of view, Sinnott thinks Pruett’s error will prevail. 5, record 2, English, - blue%20moon
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 2 OBS
When a month has two full moons the second is known as a "blue" moon, though it only rarely has a blue tint that unusual atmospheric conditions can supply. Occasionally the moon takes on unusual colors, but most often it tends to be reddish, reports Guy Ottewell of Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. 6, record 2, English, - blue%20moon

The Milton Chamber of Commerce was initiated as the Milton Board of Trade well over 100 years ago on October 2, 1888. Early meetings of the Board of Trade were held in Chisholm's Hall(about 144 Main St.) on the first Friday evening of each month "when the interests of the town were fully discussed and well looked after". The Board of Trade changed its name to the Milton Chamber of Commerce in 1952 and in 1965 received its provincial charter. Trade fairs, the Santa Claus parade, paint-up, clean-up, beautify campaigns and others were some activities of the Chamber of Commerce and its committees. 1, record 3, English, - Milton%20Chamber%20of%20Commerce

Strong wind, producing a duststorm or sandstorm, in central and northern Sudan. 3, record 4, English, - haboob
Record number: 4, Textual support number: 1 CONT
The name comes from the Arabic word habb, meaning wind. Haboobs are most frequent from May through September, especially in June, but they have occurred in every month except November. Their average duration is three hours; they are most severe in April and May when the soil is driest. They may approach from any direction, but most commonly from the north in winter and from the south, southeast, or east in summer. The average maximum wind velocity is over 13 m s1(30 mph) and a speed of 28 m s1(62 mph) has been recorded. The sand and dust form a dense whirling wall that may be 1000 m(3000 ft) high; it is often preceded by isolated dust whirls. During these storms, enormous quantities of sand are deposited. Haboobs usually occur after a few days of rising temperature and falling pressure. 4, record 4, English, - haboob

April 7... Tonight will bring the April moon, traditionally called the Egg Moon. This full Moon is also known as the Sprouting Grass Moon, the Pink Moon, and the Fish Moon. Historically, Native North Americans living in the tributaries of the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence kept track of the seasons by giving a distinctive name to each full Moon. This name was used to refer to the entire month in which the Moon occurred. 2, record 5, English, - April%20moon
