Spinning or tumbling net shots are shots where the player makes the shuttle spin so that it does not go too high, and lands close to the net. This shot is executed by slicing the shuttle when it is right over the net. The player needs to take the shuttle as high as possible to make this move work. By slicing the shuttle, the player prevents the shuttle from going any higher. All the upwards and forward moving momentum is transferred into the spin. The shuttle would stay stationary for a second as it spins before dropping down onto the floor.

Paragliders have no rigid structure and are kept in shape by the internal pressure of air, with the pilot suspended by lines beneath. The pilot is clipped into a harness and oriented in a sitting position for maximum comfort. After laying out the wing and lines, launching is simply a matter of moving down the slope a few steps to tension the lines and allow the wind to inflate the wing and raise it above you. A short run forward to pick up airspeed and you’re airborne!

Paraglider pilots launch from gentle hillsides with their gliders already opened for flight; if the glider isn’t flying properly, the launch can be aborted before leaving the ground. Paragliding launches are not as "committing"; if you want to stop your launch, you just stop running and the canopy floats down behind you. The pilot runs down a gentle slope and glides away from the mountain.

The take-off, contrary to popular belief, does not involve a leap off a cliff, all you have to do is run a few steps to be airborne.

Le décollage s'effectue en général dans une pente. Le parapentiste place son aile à terre, bien étalée (en forme de corolle) et face à la pente. Il s'installe dans sa sellette en veillant bien à respecter les vérifications d'usage (points d'accrochages de la sellette, casque, radio et pas de nœuds dans les suspentes). Il faut qu'il y ait une légère brise qui remonte la pente face à lui pour lui faciliter le décollage et que les conditions météorologiques soient adaptées.

Hendrickson has unveiled an automatic trailer back-up alarm system for improved awareness of backward vehicle movement in areas of limited maneuverability and visibility.... With rearward trailer movement, the system activates a loud warning sound to help alert bystanders and other drivers in areas such as congested dock operations and near crosswalks and walkways that the vehicle is moving in reverse. A wheel-end direction sensor reads the ABS tone ring activating the alarm, a 97-decibel repeating pound pulse, after one-half of a reverse revolution of the tire. The alarm ceases two seconds after the trailer stops or immediately upon any forward movement.

Rusty tussock moth.... Larvae attack all conifer seedling species.... These gregarious caterpillars completely denude a seedling before moving on to the next, and can occur in patches of 5-100 styroblocks.... The adult male is rusty-brown with a white dot and light brown band on each forewing. The female is flightless, sedentary, with light tan hairs covering the body. The population overwinters as white egg masses which can be cemented to the sides and bottoms of styroblocks. They will adhere to the blocks after seedlings have been lifted and blocks washed and stored. Because the eggs are white, they often go unnoticed. Larvae emerge from these egg masses(often on styroblocks) around May, and actively feed on newly emerged seedlings. They are hairy, up to 28 mm long, have two black hair "pencils" projecting forward and one to the rear, four golden brushes of hair on the back, accompanied by eight warty protuberances with yellow and black hairs on each segment.

When you press the brake pedal, the pushrod extends farther from the brake chamber, moving the slack adjuster forward. A good understanding of the basic axis system used to describe aircraft motion is necessary to fully appreciate flight test data, since all measurements are referenced to this axis system. Aircraft translational motion is described in terms of motion in three different directions, each direction being perpendicular to the other two(orthogonal). Motion in the X direction is forward and aft velocity. The Y direction produces sideways motion to the left and right, and up and down motion is in the Z direction... There are several slightly different versions of the basic axis system just described. They differ primarily in the exact placement of the zero reference lines, but are generally similar in their directions.(For example, the body-axis system uses the fuselage center line as the x axis, while a wind-axis system uses the direction that the aircraft is moving through the air as the x axis.)
