In another embodiment of the... invention, a computer may place one or more markers on an imaged scene. Then the person capturing the image of the scene may encourage a person in the scene to interact with those markers, knowing that augmented reality will be applied based on the location of the markers.... an image object U, in this case a person, has an image arm A. The marker M is overlaid on the image by computer. The overlaying of the marker may be done by applying an additional layer onto the image, which layer may be largely transparent so that the underlying image may be seen. The marker M may be a guide to indicate to the person capturing the image that an augmented reality object may be overlaid on the ultimate image at that location. The image object U may be a still or moving image. 1, record 1, English, - overlaying

Using a device called a Josephson junction, a SQUID can detect a change of energy as much as 100 billion times weaker than the electromagnetic energy that moves a compass needle. A Josephson junction is made up of two superconductors, separated by an insulating layer so thin that electrons can pass through. A SQUID consists of tiny loops of superconductors employing Josephson junctions to achieve superposition : each electron moves simultaneously in both directions. Because the current is moving in two opposite directions, the electrons have the ability to perform as qubits(that theoretically could be used to enable quantum computing). SQUIDs have been used for a variety of testing purposes that demand extreme sensitivity, including engineering, medical, and geological equipment. Because they measure changes in a magnetic field with such sensitivity, they do not have to come in contact with a system that they are testing. 3, record 3, English, - superconducting%20quantum%20interference%20device

4, record 3, French, - dispositif%20supraconducteur%20%C3%A0%20interf%C3%A9rence%20quantique

One of the most notable characteristics of an estuary is the differing gradients of salinity that are present... These gradients may appear both horizontally and vertically within the water column. Under flood tide conditions the layer of surface water coming into the estuary is moving at a faster rate than the bottom layer. As the tidal waters come in contact with the fresh water moving out of the river, the more dense salt water sinks to the bottom causing the fresh water to rise. The result of this tidal movement is a mixing of the fresh and salt water from the top to the bottom referred to as tidal over-mixing, and a salt water "wedge" being formed. The wedge is narrowest at the head of the river and it broadens out towards the mouth of the river. 6, record 5, English, - salt%2Dwater%20wedge

Kelvin-Helmholtz wave clouds are formed when there are two parallel layers of air that are usually moving at different speeds and in opposite directions. The upper layer of air usually moves faster than the lower layer because there is less friction. In order for us to see this shear layer, there must be enough water vapor in the air for a cloud to form. Even if clouds are not present to reveal the shear layer, pilots need to be aware of invisible atmospheric phenomenon.... The Kelvin-Helmholtz wave cloud does not last very long because the upper layer of air is usually drier than the lower layer, which results in evaporation of the cloud. 3, record 7, English, - Kelvin%2DHelmholtz%20wave%20cloud

2, record 10, French, - granulats%20en%20exc%C3%A8s

Thermally bonded non-woven geotextiles are produced by spraying continuous polymer filaments on to a moving belt which is then passed through heated rollers. These compress the layer of loose filaments and cause partial melting of the polymer filaments, leading to thermal bonding at the filament cross-over points. The random distribution of the filaments as they are sprayed on to the belt ensures that each of these non-woven geotextiles contains a wider range of opening sizes than is found in a woven geotextile. The absence of any preferred orientation of the filaments, such as the warp and weft directions present in woven geotextiles, also gives non-woven geotextiles a more isotropic strength. 1, record 14, English, - thermally%20bonded%20non%2Dwoven%20geotextile
