If you’re moving at a pace faster than your usual hike but not quite running, congratulations—you’re officially speed hiking! The key difference between speed hiking and trail running is the pace : speed hiking is all about walking fast on trails, while trail running, as the name implies, involves running. Although speed hikers might break into a jog now and then, the main goal is to walk most of the trail. If you find yourself running more than walking, you’ve crossed the line into trail running. 3, record 3, English, - fast%20hiking

Handlining is a fishing method in which a line with a hook, usually baited, is lowered into the water from a drifting, anchored or moving boat or from a jetty, pier or rock on the shore overlooking the water. 2, record 4, French, - p%C3%AAche%20%C3%A0%20la%20ligne%20%C3%A0%20main

in-line inductor: This type of proportioner educts or drafts foam concentrate from a container or tank by venturi action, utilizing the operating pressure of the hose water stream on which it is installed, injecting concentrate into that flow of water. 4, record 10, English, - in%2Dline%20foam%20concentrate%20inducer
Record number: 10, Textual support number: 2 CONT
There are three different types of foam proportioners commonly used in the fire service :line eductors, balanced pressure proportioners, and around-the-pump proportioners. The line eductor is the simplest and least expensive proportioning device. It has no moving parts in the water way, which makes it durable and dependable. The line eductor may be attached to the hoseline or may be part of the nozzle. There are two different types of line eductors : the in-line eductor and the self-educting nozzle. Both types of eductors use the venturi principle to draft foam concentrate into the water stream. As water at high pressure passes over a reduced opening, it creates a low-pressure area near the outlet side of the eductor. This low-pressure area creates a suction effect. The eductor pickup tube is connected to the eductor at this low-pressure point. The pickup tube submerged in the foam concentrate draws concentrate into the water stream, creating a foam water solution. 6, record 10, English, - in%2Dline%20foam%20concentrate%20inducer

The term "horse vaulting" is a bit misleading. It brings to mind the aerial leaps performed in gymnastic competitions on a padded stationary block. But the actual sport of horse vaulting is one of the three classic disciplines of horseback riding, the other two being dressage and jumping. ... While vaulting does include jumping onto and off of a moving horse, it also involves much more, as I learned on a visit to watch the Great Falls Vaulting Team practice. Led by coach Jennifer Williams, the team’s members ride bareback, kneel and stand on a moving horse, and perform the sort of riding tricks you might see in a circus. 1, record 19, English, - horse%20vaulting

Cross crew qualification (CCQ) is the process of qualifying for a new aircraft type through training which covers only the differences between the new type and the aircraft type the pilot is currently qualified to fly. It applies to aircraft types which share Flight Operational Commonality and replaces the Full Type Rating course. 2, record 22, English, - cross%20crew%20qualification
Record number: 22, Textual support number: 1 OBS
For example, an A320 pilot moving to the A330 or A340 only needs to do the appropriate differences training to be qualified on the A330 or A340. The same applies to a pilot moving from the A330/A340 to the A320 Family, or between the A330 and A340. CCQ reduces training time and cost by 65% to 95%, compared to a Full Type Rating course. Transitioning pilots spend less time away from line flying and, as a result, can increase their productivity in the airline. CCQ is now well established. It is approved by authorities worldwide, including the JAA in Europe and the FAA in the United States, and is used by twenty-six Airbus family operators around the world. The trend towards MFF is on the increase, with pilots from 11 airlines practising it. 2, record 22, English, - cross%20crew%20qualification

2, record 38, French, - scintillation

For visualization purposes, the station's direction of motion is called the velocity vector, or V-bar for short. By convention, points in front of the station are said to be on the positive V-bar while points behind are considered negative. The imaginary line connecting the station with the center of the Earth is called the radius vector, or R-bar. Points directly below the station along this line are considered positive while points above are considered negative. Endeavour, then, will approach the station along the plus R-bar. The station will be oriented with its long axis aligned with the velocity vector, with the Unity module in "front" and Zvezda behind. Unity's nadir and zenith ports will be oriented as their names imply. This orientation, or attitude, is known as "XVV, "i. e., the station's X axis is aligned with the velocity vector. The terminal rendezvous sequence will begin with a rocket firing(TI) as Endeavour trails the station by about eight nautical miles. Once the shuttle reaches the plus R-bar, commander Brent Jett will guide the ship up from directly below. As he nears the station, he will yaw the shuttle 180 degrees so its tail is pointing in the direction of motion and its nose toward the minus V-bar. Assuming a good linkup, the shuttle will begin controlling the station's orientation for the duration of Endeavour's mission, moving the lab back into an "X-POP" attitude with the station's X axis perpendicular to the plane of its orbit. A good understanding of the basic axis system used to describe aircraft motion is necessary to fully appreciate flight test data, since all measurements are referenced to this axis system. Aircraft translational motion is described in terms of motion in three different directions, each direction being perpendicular to the other two(orthogonal). Motion in the X direction is forward and aft velocity. The Y direction produces sideways motion to the left and right, and up and down motion is in the Z direction... There are several slightly different versions of the basic axis system just described. They differ primarily in the exact placement of the zero reference lines, but are generally similar in their directions.(For example, the body-axis system uses the fuselage center line as the x axis, while a wind-axis system uses the direction that the aircraft is moving through the air as the x axis.) 4, record 42, English, - body%20axis%20system

1, record 46, English, - line%20eductor

The helical aperture facsimile transmitter is fairly common on low-to mid-volume fax units. The original is roller fed over a flatbed copy platen and illuminated by an area lamp. Lens and mirror optics reflect and focus one scan line of the moving document at a time, first through a fixed horizontal slit aperture, and then through a rotating helical aperture. The rotating of the helical aperture produces one lateral scan of the original per revolution, with the passing light being focused a final time onto a photocell for conversion to an electrical signal. 1, record 52, English, - rotating%20helical%20aperture%20scanner

Tracking tasks focus on motor activities as distinct from perceptual or cognitive activities to perform the task the subject aligns a marker with a target. The marker may be the subject's own finger or, more usually, a cursor or pointer operated using a control such as a joystick, handwheel or keyboard. The target may be a series of lights which illuminate in random order, or a moving line on a screen. Tracking tasks are often visual by may be auditory or tactile. Every tracking task is jointly controlled by the subject and the system and, whatever the configuration, data is gathered on the speed and accuracy of the subject's responses to changes in the status of the target. Tracking tasks are characterized in three ways : 1. pursuit vs compensatory tracking, 2. system-paced vs subject-paced tracking, 3. step vs continuous input tracking. 1, record 65, English, - tracking%20task

Domestic burners... employ either one of two methods to prepare the fuel oil for combustion. These are atomization(spraying) and vaporization(heating). Atomization or spraying is divided into three types, namely, high-pressure atomization, low-pressure atomization, and centrifugal atomization. With high-pressure atomization used by high-pressure gun-type burners, the oil pressure is built up to 100 psi by a pump and delivered through an oil line to a specially designed nozzle from which it sprays out into the combustion chamber in a vaporous cloud of tiny globules or droplets. This mist of fine oil droplets is met by a current of air moving down the blast(gun) tube, and the oil and air mix in the combustion chamber after leaving the burner. Ignition is accomplished with an electric spark. 2, record 68, English, - high%2Dpressure%20atomization

As soon as a moving target is introduced, the passer is provided with many more problems. When stationary, all he has to do is have the correct line and make sure it is hard enough. With a moving target, he must understand that where the target is now is not the same position as where he will receive the pass. 2, record 80, English, - passer

1, record 82, French, - lettre%20%C3%A0%20un%20seul%20alignement
