Handlining is a fishing method in which a line with a hook, usually baited, is lowered into the water from a drifting, anchored or moving boat or from a jetty, pier or rock on the shore overlooking the water. Handlining is just as its name implies—holding a line in the hand while waiting either actively or passively for a fish to take the bait. 1, record 1, English, - handlining

2, record 1, French, - p%C3%AAche%20%C3%A0%20la%20ligne%20%C3%A0%20main

The crust and upper mantle of the Earth are made up of about a dozen large plates and several smaller ones that are constantly moving. The movements are very slow-only a few centimetres per year. Where the plates rub against one another, strain builds up, especially at the edges. When the strength of the rock is exceeded, the Earth's crust may break and suddenly shift by several metres, causing an earthquake. 6, record 2, English, - tectonic%20plate

6, record 2, French, - plaque%20tectonique

Tree climbing consists of ascending and moving around in the canopy of trees. Tree climbing is safe when done with the proper training and equipment. Use of a rope, helmet, and harness are the minimum requirements to ensure the safety of the climber. Other equipment can also be used depending on the experience and skill of the tree climber. Some tree climbers take special hammocks called "Treeboats" with them into the tree canopies where they can enjoy a picnic or nap, or spend the night. Tree climbing is an "on rope" activity that employs a mixture of techniques and gear derived from rock climbers, cave explorers, loggers and professional arborists. Modern tree climbing techniques are a derivative of these other activities.... The main techniques used are free climbing, self-belayed climbing with a doubled rope system, Single Rope Technique, lead climbing, and spiking up with climbing gaffs. 2, record 4, English, - tree%20climbing

11, record 4, French, - grimpe%20d%27arbre

An asphalt distributor will spread a coating of asphalt over the surface, which is followed by a chipspreader placing the layer of rock. This rock is then rolled into place with a roller. This process should take about 20 minutes at any one location. No traffic is allowed on the liquid asphalt, and traffic on the unrolled rock will be limited to critical traffic only. After rolling, the road will be reopened to light, slow moving traffic. There are small surface rocks that will roll off into the gutter. This is also normal, and city crews will sweep up the excess aggregate within 24 to 48 hours. Drivers are asked to keep speeds slow to avoid damage to the fresh surface and to avoid throwing loose rocks into windshields. 2, record 26, English, - excess%20aggregate

2, record 26, French, - granulats%20en%20exc%C3%A8s
