It is composed of the Mobile Base(MBS), the SSRMS(Space Station Remote Manipulator or Canadarm 2) and the SPDM(Special Purpose Dexterous Manipulator). Astronauts receive specialized training to enable them to perform these functions with the various systems.

Depending on the spatial arrangement of the detectors, the relative calibration error may be constant in one spatial direction. For example, a linear array of detectors may cause relative errors across the image, but since the rest of the image is formed by the motion of the sensor platform, the relative error is constant down the columns of the image. REED is an international scholarly project that is establishing for the first time the broad context from which the great drama of Shakespeare and his contemporaries grew. REED examines this historical MSS that provide external evidence of drama, secular music, and other communal entertainment and ceremony from the Middle Ages until 1642, when the Puritans closed the London theatres. Engineering Cockpit Simulator consists of a transport aircraft cockpit with all instrumentation and flight dynamics driven by a network of high-end graphics workstations. The software can simulate nearly any commercial transport aircraft, using five networked graphics computer machines, including an out-the-window display. Classified as a flight-training device, the simulator uses high-resolution, computer-generated images, to graphically depict airplane controls and displays that are located on the forward instrument panel. To increase fidelity, some aircraft components are installed, including throttle quadrant, flight mode control panel, flight management systems, control yokes, landing gear handle assembly, and rudder pedals.

BOEING 747 ENGINEERING COCKPIT SIMULATOR(ECS).... The ECS uses a software package distributed by CTA Simulation Systems called Mission Simulator Software(MSS) to model flight dynamics and depict aircraft instruments. Out of the window(OTW) scenery is generated using Microsoft Flight Simulator with an infinity optics display system. The software is flexible, allowing the simulation of nearly any commercial transport aircraft.

The MCE is a set of specilized control equipment which controls the operation of the on-orbit Mobile Servicing System(MSS) external components and is physically installed into the United States On-orbit Segment(USOS). The Space Station will be equipped with two sets of MCE, operable from the U. S. Laboratory(USL). One set of MCE can be configured for Cupola operations by relocating the crew input and output devices to the Cupola(the core processing electronics will remain in the USL).

The Mobile Base System is an aluminum structure mounted on the mobile transporter. It serves as a storage location and a work platform for astronauts. The MBS is equipped with four Power Data Grapple Fixtures and a Latching End Effector to hold payloads. The MBS also provides a Common Attach System to accommodate payload transportation and servicing, and provides structural and electrical interfaces to users.
