Generally speaking, the RWO [real world object] insertion logic may insert a RWO at a location within the VRS [virtual reality scene] that corresponds to its location in the real world relative to the user's direction of gaze in real-time. As a result, the user sees the RWO within the augmented VRS as she would by taking off the HMD [head mounted display], providing her with spatial familiarity and reorientation cues without disrupting the flow of the VRS. Nevertheless, there may be certain instances where the insertion logic may place a RWO at a location within the VRS different than its location within the real world. The process of augmenting the VRS can continue progressively with the insertion or blending or overlaying of additional real world objects until the computer's DDL [disorientation detection logic] determines that the user no longer meets the criteria indicative of disorientation. 1, record 2, English, - insertion

Patient medical devices often have limited resources and most IMDs [implantable medical devices] have tightly-constrained processing, storage, and power resources. Nevertheless, long-term patient medical devices must store up to three to twelve months of patient data between follow-up sessions. Frequently, to maximize available resource utilization, only one set of patient measures are recorded per day and are averaged weekly to compress data storage overhead. As a result, patient follow-up can be artificially restricted by the data actually captured. For instance, the monitoring features enabled by a patient medical device can potentially limit the scope of medical review and evaluation by filtering out transient but medically significant events. 1, record 3, English, - patient%20follow%2Dup

The first step toward understanding the role of atomic fluctuations in protein function is to determine the nature of the fluctuations themselves. This includes the study of their magnitude (how large they are), their probability (how often they occur) and their time scale (how long they take). The most direct approach to protein dynamics is to treat each atom in the protein as a particle responding to forces in the way prescribed by Newtonian physics, in accord with Newton’s equations of motion. 3, record 19, English, - atomic%20fluctuation

Stylistic synonyms :"medicine man", "pow(w) ow", "predictor" and "shaman". These three terms have all too frequently been used interchangeably, owing to the overlapping job descriptions of each one of these terms. The same can be said of the corresponding French equivalents "sorcier", "guérisseur", "chaman(e) ", "homme-médecine", "sorcier guérisseur", etc. Often an author's selection of one word over that of another is solely based on a particular perspective he wants to impart on his text : by using "medicine", he would emphasize the beneficial powers of the person in question; whereas by using "shaman", a term originally used to refer to a Siberian medicine man, the author would focus on the use of magic in the performance of rituals. Note however that "shaman/chamane" would be the term used by Europeans to describe the occult performed by non-Europeans; it would not be used by native peoples to refer to one of their own kind. As for "powwow", this author does not recommend its use today because of the confusion that might arise, owing to the polysemous nature of the term(could also mean a special meeting). Nevertheless the use of "powwow", a specific native term used by certain aboriginal tribes in the past, could impart an ethnic coloring to a given text if such is desired. The interchangeability of similar terms occurs also in French. Hence, in French, one who heals but is not certified as a doctor is commonly called a "guérisseur"; whereas one who specializes in magic(whether for medicinal purposes or not) is called a "sorcier". 7, record 20, English, - medicine%20man

The Thixoforming Group in the Department of Engineering Materials at the University of Sheffield undertakes research and development into the forming of alloys and composites in the semi-solid state(SSM). This process is commonly called thixoforming(thixocasting or thixoforging) and possesses some of the advantages of both casting and forging. Initially the material behaves in the semi-solid condition like a solid(it can be picked up and holds it shape unsupported), but when injected into a die it flows like a liquid to take the form of the die accurately, as in die-casting. However, the structure is fine and uniform, virtually free of porosity, and the product may be heat-treated to give mechanical properties superior to those of castings. The thermal shock to the die is less than that given by a liquid, which means that higher melting point alloys-which cannot easily be diecast-may nevertheless be thixocast. 1, record 21, English, - thixoforming

No one can deny the importance of integrating the community and its inhabitants in the development and planning processes of a renovation project within their neighborhood. Nevertheless, the traditional methods of participatory urban planning often inhibit some of the sections of the community to express themselves and do not allow enough time for the maturing and appropriation of the projects. The expression "World Curling Championship" is singular when only one champion is crowned. But when the first "World Women's Curling Championship" was held in 1979, the plural form "World Curling Championships" was used because the event was already crowning the winner in the men's, senior men's, women's and senior women's categories; this generic designation was and will be used every time no official sponsor gives its name to the event. Since 1979, the plural form "World Curling Championships" is used because the same competition determines the winner in the men's, senior men's, women's and senior women's categories; this generic designation was and will be used every time no official sponsor gives its name to the event. Nevertheless, "World Men's Curling Championship" is still appropriate to distinguish the men's event inside the "World Curling Championships.

The legislation relating to registration of title is directed to the manner in which the law and practice of conveyancing are to be adapted to the use of a centrally maintained register of title to land. As the use of the register has been extended, so the successive statutes mark the historical development of a system of conveyancing, commonly known as registered conveyancing, which approached maturity as part of the real property legislation of 1925. The result of that legislation, as respects registered land, is to produce on first registration a state insured, but nevertheless private, record of entitlement to legal estates in land, such record to be kept up to date in respect of subsequent transactions in accordance with the conveyancing technique for which the legislation provides.(26 Halsbury, 4th ed., p. 404). 1, record 56, English, - registered%20conveyancing

"Property" is a word of different meanings. It may mean a thing owned.... It may mean ownership itself as when I speak of my "property" in my watch which may pass to the person to whom I sell the watch before I actually hand the watch over.... Or it may even mean an interest in a thing less than ownership but nevertheless conferring certain rights, as when we speak of the "property" or "special property" of a bailee in the thing bailed.... "Property" comprehends tangibles and intangibles, movables and immovables; it means a tangible thing(land or a chattel) itself, or rights in respect of that thing, or rights, such as a debt, in relation to which no tangible thing exists.(Crossley Vaines, 5th ed., 1973, p. 3). 1, record 59, English, - property

Where property is settled on the members of a class(e. g., the children of a marriage) subject to a power of appointment among them, and part of it is appointed to one, that one is nevertheless not excluded by law from taking an equal share with the others in the part which remains unappointed, and thus obtaining a larger share than any of the others. It should be emphasized that the interest is an existing interest from the time of its creation, and is looked upon as a part of the total ownership of land or other thing which is its subject matter." A future interest is an interest in property in which the right to possession or enjoyment of the property is postponed to a future time. Every novice knows the wigwam fire--indeed if a child who has never made a fire were told to build one, he would surely turn up with a wigwam, for it is the natural arrangement. But nevertheless, it is not without importance in the craft, for it is the core of every fire lay no matter how elaborate. Viewed in its own right and aside from its contribution as the starting torch of other lays, it has few qualifications as a cooking fire if one intends to do more than stew a pot of tea, because its heat is all thrown to the center of the pyramid and offers no spread for the utensils, and its coals all drop to one small spot in the center. It is good for light, however, and is prized in the evening. First the coil of birch-bark, or the chip of fat pine, or the handful of tiny twigs broken into a pyramid, or the fuzz-stick; then a few softwood sticks from the size of a pencil up to that of your little finger, stacked around it in wigwam fashion, and lastly the hardwood sticks of finger and thumb size. Usages do not agree on the meaning of the adjectives "Greater" and "Metropolitan" sometimes considered synonyms. Usually, "Greater" means a large city with its surrounding suburbs, while "Metropolitan, "usually said of a metropolis and its suburbs, includes also the inhabited region surrounding the former. The expression "Greater Montréal" was understood as grouping all the municipalities of the Île de Montréal(or Montréal Island) forming the new city of Montréal since 1 January 2002, but as excluding those on Jésus Island, Bizard Island and the South Shore. To include all of these, the expressions "Metropolitan Montréal" or "Greater Montréal area" were used. But, since the fusion of all the cities on Montréal Island to form the new city, the expression "Greater Montréal" can take a new meaning and comprise all the insular cities and municipalities of the region, and the expression "Metropolitan Montréal," mean the former and all the cities and municipalities of the region on the North Shore of the Rivière des Mille Îles and the corresponding ones on the South Shore of the St. Lawrence Seaway. 1, record 96, English, - Greater%20Montr%C3%A9al

Thus, "Greater Montréal" should be written with an accent, and "Montréal Urban Community (MUC)," the original 1970 name of what became the "Communauté urbaine de Montréal (CUM)" in 1983, should have been the initial spelling of the administrative body. 1, record 96, English, - Greater%20Montr%C3%A9al

In 1894 this observation led him to enunciate the principle that the substrate molecule fits the active site of the enzyme in a... lock-and-key relationship.... Nowadays, the modified concept of transition state stabilization is gaining favor. According to this idea, it is not that the substrate is distorted but rather that the transition state makes better contacts with the enzyme than the substrate does, so that the full binding energy is not realized until the transition state is reached. Nevertheless, we shall use the term strain to cover the general situation on enzyme-transition state complementary. 3, record 97, English, - lock%2Dand%2Dkey%20relationship

If a man cuts down one of his trees expecting it to fall on his own land, he is not liable for intentional trespass if by miscalculation the tree falls on his neighbour's land. It would be otherwise if the tree fell where he wanted it to fall, but without his knowledge this turned out to be on the land of his neighbour. The latter case is considered to be one of intentional intrusion, albeit under mistake, and is nevertheless actionable. 1, record 99, English, - intentional%20intrusion

2, record 99, French, - atteinte%20intentionnelle
