In 1993, the Province of New Brunswick, in its Health and Community Services Plan for New Brunswick, announced a Community Health Centre program for Saint John at St. Joseph's Hospital. The CHC(Community Health Centre) is to provide a resource which facilitates effective responses to community health needs through partnerships, advocacy and programs.
