The Canadian side, with leadership from Tourism Canada, established industry committees responsible for air transportation issues, new products and packaging issues, cross-cultural and service issues, accommodation issues, surface transportation issues and regulatory and policy issues. The Japanese side established the Japan-Canada International Exchange and Tourism Promotion Council and the Canadian Tourism Sales Promotion Council.
