NUCLEOSIDE ANALOGUE [4 records]

Record 1 2014-04-07

English

Subject field(s)
  • Medication
CONT

Azacitidine is incorporated into DNA, where it reversibly inhibits DNA methyltransferase, thereby blocking DNA methylation. Hypomethylation of DNA by azacitidine may activate tumor suppressor genes silenced by hypermethylation, resulting in an antitumor effect. This agent is also incorporated into RNA, thereby disrupting normal RNA function and impairing tRNA cytosine-5-methyltransferase activity.

OBS

A pyrimidine nucleoside analogue of cytidine with antineoplastic activity.

OBS

Active ingredient sold under a number of commercial (trade) names, among which: Vidaza.

Domaine(s)

CONT

CONT

Stavudine [is] a dideoxynucleoside analog that inhibits reverse transcriptase and has in vitro activity against HIV.

OBS

ZERIT(R) is the brand name for stavudine(d4T), a synthetic thymidine nucleoside analogue, active against the human immunodeficiency virus(HIV).

French

Domaine(s)

CONT

OBS

HIVID is the Hoffmann-La Roche brand of zalcitabine [formerly called 2’, 3’-dideoxycytidine(ddC) ], a synthetic pyrimidine nucleoside analogue active against the human immunodeficiency virus(HIV). HIVID is available as film-coated tablets for oral administration in strengths of 0. 375 mg and 0. 750 mg.

Domaine(s)
  • Médicaments
OBS

OBS

Zalcitabine. (anciennement appelée didésoxycytidine (ddC)).

DEF

An anti-viral agent.

OBS

A synthetic nucleoside analogue of guanosine that interferes with biosynthesis of guanylic acid nucleotides. Active against DNA and RNA viruses including influenza, murine hepatitis and Lassa fever viruses. As good in vitro as cytarabine hydrochloride, andenine arabinoside, and idoxuridine against influenza virus A, A2 and B, and parainfluenza virus and adenovirus; specially indicated for treatment of severe lower respiratory tract RSV infections in patients with an underlying compromising condition(prematurity, bronchopulmonary dysplasia and other chronic lung conditions, congenital heart disease, immunodeficiency, immunosupression), and recent transplant recipients.(From sources a and b).
