Le carnet de route est une pièce qui accompagne l'avion au même titre que le certificat d'immatriculation et le certificat de navigabilité. Le carnet de route doit être tenu soigneusement à jour [...] Il doit comporter notamment : - dates, heures, point de départ et d'arrivée; - durée de vol; - composition de l'équipage; - nombre de passagers; - point fixe du ou des moteurs; - incidents survenus au cours du vol; - signature du commandant de bord.

Le carnet de bord est à peu près semblable au carnet de route en ce qui a trait à son utilisation. Cette pièce doit être signée après chaque vol par le commandant de bord et par le responsable de l'entretien. Dans le cas d'Air Canada, la composition de l'équipage et le nombre de passagers n'y figurent pas. On y trouve, au recto, les renseignements suivants : - remarques sur le déroulement de l'approche en automatique; - numéro du vol et date; - données relatives au vol (branches et temps); - diverses observations mécaniques; - incidents survenus en cours de vol; au verso : réparations à entreprendre à l'escale; - travail effectué par l'équipe d'entretien et signature du responsable.

Le livre de bord est un registre affecté à chaque avion. On y inscrit les dates, les vols, les parcours, les incidents, etc. Certaines compagnies l'appellent carnet de route et Air Canada, carnet de bord.

Further on the assessment of potential accidents, the Commission questioned whether the containment structure was adequate to contain the worst possible event. McMaster University explained that the building was designed to withstand an extremely low-probability event producing 60 pounds of steam(or an increase in pressure in the containment of 1/2 psi). The Commission questioned McMaster University on the nature of the accident scenarios used in the revised safety analysis. McMaster University responded that it looked at a number of events considered at other small Canadian research reactors, but concentrated on a very low probability event(10-6) that involves a blockage of cooling water flow through the core that leads to fuel damage.

Because the O2</sub> sensor must be pre-heated to function, many newer units contain a little 12 volt heater that brings it up to temperature sooner, offering better fuel economy and driveability earlier. These sensors can be identified by the number of wires coming out of the unit. Just one wire means you don’t have a heater. Those that have three wires use one for the signal, and two for the heater circuit. Those that have four wires use one for the signal, one for the signal' s ground, and two for the heater. In this case usually the signal wire is shielded against interference, much like common television coaxial cable.

Most engines with a turbo use sensors with heaters because the turbo steals so much of the superheat energy as it uses it to pump additional air in the intake. Without the heater, the sensor should not get hot enough to give good readings, especially when the turbo is being used. The Suzuki 1.0 liter engines unfortunately do not employ a lambda sensor with a heater.

Pour compléter la sonde, on peut ajouter un élément chauffant central en céramique PTC de manière à assurer une mise à température de fonctionnement plus rapide (20 à 30 secondes). Sur une sonde non chauffée, ce temps est quasiment le triple car on compte uniquement sur la température des gaz d'échappement pour porter la sonde à la température correcte. Dans ce cas, la position de la sonde sur la ligne d'échappement est encore plus délicate à déterminer. [...] La différence entre une sonde chauffée et une non chauffée se situe bien entendu dans la rapidité de mise en activité mais aussi dans la durée de vie. Ainsi les fabricants estiment la durée de vie à 80000 km pour une sonde non chauffée et à 160 000 km pour une sonde chauffée. Par ailleurs, la conception actuelle des moteurs donnant en finale de faibles débits de gaz au ralenti avec des températures basses, l'utilisation de sondes chauffées est préférable.
