In broad outline the plus-and-minus method calls for synthesizing pieces of DNA that are complementary to various regions of the DNA being sequenced. Because of the way the synthesis is manipulated each piece ends either with or just before a particular, identifiable nucleotide(A, G, T or C). By performing the synthesis to produce a large number of pieces, each one ending with a successive nucleotide in the sequence, it is possible to establish the sequence of the entire DNA molecule. 1, record 6, English, - plus%2Dand%2Dminus%20method

Record number: 6, Textual support number: 1 CONT

As part of work performed for the Space Station Freedom's Flight Telerobotic Servicer(FTS), Honeybee designed and built a gripping end effector. The best audio boards are designed with digital signal processor chips that provide more efficient sampling and contain separate circuits to bring in synthesized digital sound directly through a MIDI interface. In many cases audio boards are integrated with full-motion video boards ... All audio boards offered for multimedia applications record and play back sounds by digital sampling but may have different sampling rate ranges. Most also include separate engines for music synthesis, MIDI ports, and a software mixer to adjust relative volumes of sampled sounds, CD-Audio, external audio and microphone input. 5, record 17, English, - sound%20board

What makes automatic molding automatic is the mold. There are a number of requirements for automatic molding. The machine must be capable of consistent, repetitive action. The mold must clear itself automatically. This means that all the parts have to be ejected using a runnerless mold, or that the runner and the parts have to be ejected in a conventional mold. There may be some method for assisting in the removal of the pieces, usually in the form of a wiper mechanism, air blast, or robot. All machines used automatically must have a low-pressure closing system to prevent the machine from closing under full pressure if there is any obstruction between the dies. The machine shuts itself off and/or an alarm is sounded. Automatic molding does not necessarily eliminate the operator. Many times, an operator is present to pack the parts and perform secondary operations. Automatic molding gives a better quality piece and more rapid cycle. In automatic molding an experienced person usually attends several machines. Unless the powder feed and part removal are automated, this person takes care of those operations. 1, record 24, English, - automatic%20molding

One advantage that a procedural encoding of the grammar... has over pattern-matching schemes in the implementation of fuzziness is its ability to control exactly where words can be ignored.... The amount of fuzziness-how many, if any, words in a row can be ignored-is controlled in two ways. First, whenever a grammar rule is invoked, the calling rule has the option of limiting the number of words that can be skipped. Second, each rule can decide which of its constituent pieces or words are required and how tightly controlled the search for them should be....
