Record number: 7, Textual support number: 1 OBS
Tennis players are given points based on their performances over the last twelve months (the process is called "ranking"). The ratings are issued three times a year and are used by organizing committees to determine the seeds for an ATP-sanctioned tournament and the players that are to be admitted to the draw if there are more entries than positions (the process is called "seeding"). The top seeds (8 in a draw of 32, 16 in a draw of 128) are positioned on the draw (or board), the first two (No. 1 seed, No. 2 seed) being located at opposite ends of the draw and others, placed in positions specified by tournament regulations. The other seeded players (24 in a draw of 32, 112 in a draw of 128) are usually subject to draw (their names are drawn blindly from a cup) and registered on the official draw sheet indicating who opposes whom. The process allows for unseeded players to fill the final entries and intends to have a match between the best two players in the final. 4, record 7, English, - seeding

While the SFCS has a number of features and capabilities designed to vastly improve target identification and hand-off among a number of operators, its core is a muzzle velocity sensor. The system sits on the Picatinny rail of any weapon and draws on a number of acoustic sensors to characterize how the weapon is performing between the time the primer of a round is struck and the bullet leaves the barrel.... Meteorological and other sensor inputs are fed into a ballistics computation that then gives a range azimuth correction to the operator. It helps the operator correct his aim point so that his probability of hit for second, third and fourth rounds is that much more accurate. 1, record 8, English, - soldier%20fire%20control%20system

Homopoietic progenitor cells generally become committed to a particular pathway of differentiation long before they cease proliferating and terminally differentiate. The committed progenitors go through many rounds of cell division to amplify the ultimate number of cells of the given specialized type. In this way, a single stem-cell division can lead to the production of thousands of differentiated progeny, which explains why the number of stem cells is so small a fraction of the total population of hemopoietic cells. 3, record 12, English, - committed%20progenitor

In Fixed Limit games, each round of betting has a maximum number(three) of allowable raises, known as the cap. So, if a bet is made, that bet can only be raised three times, after which all players must call, or fold. However, if only two players remain in the hand the cap is increased, to a maximum of 5 raises. This rule is in effect for all the betting rounds, with the idea being to speed up play. 3, record 13, English, - cap
