With pertinent trees planting, several improvements are expectable for aesthetic, visual, historical or symbolic purpose, for runoff, noise and pollutant control and from a microclimatic point of view. Prenons l'exemple d'une zone périurbaine où se côtoient des espaces bâtis, des champs labourés, des espaces à dominante végétale. Un champs labouré (minéral), une forêt (végétal), auront une texture relativement homogène, c'est-à-dire des valeurs de réponses de pixels proches. Un espace pavillonnaire quant à lui, sera constitué par une combinaison de valeurs de pixels distinctes les unes des autres.
