The nose-gear strut is a steerable, dual-wheel, fully retractable oleo strut. It supports the forward portion of the airplane, absorbs landing shock, and steers the airplane through ground maneuvers. The strut is supported by the side braces and crossarm, which are part of the strut casting, and by the drag links. The major components of the strut are the cylinder body, the steering cylinder, and the piston. 3, record 2, English, - gear%20strut

A telescoping landing-gear strut consisting essentially of a hollow piston that travels in an oil-filled cylinder, the oil, upon compression of the strut, being forced through a small orifice in the bottom of the piston to provide a shock-absorbing effect. 9, record 5, English, - oleo%20strut

... the air-oleo strut in the landing gear... consists of an outer cylinder, an inner cylinder(lower strut), a metering piston with an orifice, and a metering pin. Record 5, Textual support, French
Record number: 5, Textual support number: 1 CONT
4, record 5, French, - jambe%20%C3%A0%20amortisseur%20ol%C3%A9opneumatique
Record number: 5, Textual support number: 1 OBS
