The Zarya control module, also known by the technical term Functional Cargo Block and the Russian acronym FGB, was the first component launched for the International Space Station and provides the station's initial propulsion and power.... The U. S.-funded and Russian-built Zarya, which means Sunrise when translated to English, is a U. S. component of the station although it was built and launched by Russia.... The Zarya module is 41. 2 feet long and 13. 5 feet wide at its widest point. It has an operational lifetime of at least 15 years. Its solar arrays and six nickel-cadmium batteries can provide an average of 3 kilowatts of electrical power. Using the Russian Kurs system, the Zarya will perform an automated and remotely piloted rendezvous and docking with the Service Module in orbit. Its docking power will accommodate Russian Soyuz piloted spacecraft and unpiloted Progress resupply spacecraft. Each of the two solar arrays is 35 feet long and 11 feet wide. The module's 16 fuel tanks combined can hold more than 6 tons of propellant. The attitude control system for the module includes 24 large steering jets and 12 small steering jets. Two large engines are available for reboosting the spacecraft and making major orbital changes. 6, record 39, English, - Zarya%20control%20module

The Zarya module now provides orientation control, communications and electrical power attached to the passive Unity module while the station awaits launch of the third component, a Russian-provided crew living quarters and early station core known as the Service Module ... Later in the station’s assembly sequence, the Zarya module will be used primarily for its storage capacity and external fuel tanks. 6, record 39, English, - Zarya%20control%20module

A real property management framework is a control structure set up by a department to operationalize Treasury Board policy direction to effectively and efficiently manage its real property inventory and associated responsibilities. In its most basic form, the real property management framework is the departmental master plan for managing real property in an integrated fashion with other departmental resources to meet operational needs, i. e. it is a corporate activity. As a corporate activity, the real property management framework will typically provide a central role to senior managers at the assistant deputy minister level. 1, record 50, English, - real%20property%20management%20framework

1, record 50, French, - cadre%20de%20gestion%20des%20biens%20immobiliers

The two principal means of limiting rotor power in high operational wind speeds-stall regulation and pitch regulation... Stall regulated machines require speed regulation. As wind speed increases, providing the rotor speed is held constant, flow angles over the blade sections... The blades become increasingly stalled and this limits power to acceptable levels without any additional active control. For this to work, the speed of the WT [wind turbine] rotor must be held essentially constant and this is achieved through the connection of the electric generator to the grid. 4, record 64, English, - stall%20regulation

The Business Integration Office(BIO), also included in the Office of the Director General ensures the effective operation of BGTD, including operational and strategic planning and performance measurement. Within BGTD, this Office manages broad projects of a strategic nature(both long term and emerging). While some of these will change over time, currently the office is focused on coordinating BGTD's projects related to the Therapeutic Access Strategy. One of the commitments under TAS is the endorsement of open and transparent performance reporting practices. BIO is the lead for implementing a culture of increased transparency and openness with our stakeholders through citizen and stakeholder engagement initiatives. Recognizing the value and necessity of leveraging international science and policy expertise, this Office also researches and coordinates opportunities for partnerships with international regulatory counterparts, and such bodies as the National Institute for Biological Standardization and Control(NIBSC) and the World Health Organization(WHO). 1, record 67, English, - Business%20Integration%20Office

A second cooling funtion is provided for safety reasons, to deal with the possibility of a loss of primary coolant circuit function during operation of the reactor. A breach in the primary coolant circuit, for example, could allow the core to overheat, resulting in damage to the nuclear fuel. A pressurizer arrangement injects additional coolant into the circuit to maintain operational pressure and to replace coolant that may be lost through a minor breach or leak in the coolant circuit. Various techniques are known for cooling the reactor core in the event of a major breach such as the rupture of a conduit in the primary coolant circuit. Neutron absorbing control rods can be inserted into the fuel array quickly to damp the nuclear reaction, for example when the sensed coolant pressure drops. 1, record 82, English, - major%20breach

The US Navy's Fleet Satellite Communications System(FLTSATCOM) is a constellation of five operational satellites used by both the Navy and Air Force as well as the presidential command network. The system with a design life of five years, serves as a secure communications link between the three users. Each satellite has 23 communications channels, 10 of which are used by the Navy for communication between its land forces, ships and aircraft. The Air Force uses 12 of the channels as part of its satellite communications system for command and control of nuclear forces.
