The Business Integration Office(BIO), also included in the Office of the Director General ensures the effective operation of BGTD, including operational and strategic planning and performance measurement. Within BGTD, this Office manages broad projects of a strategic nature(both long term and emerging). The air mobility element provides air mobility integration and coordination of US Transportation Command-assigned air mobility forces. The air mobility element receives direction from the director of mobility forces and is the primary team for providing coordination with the tanker airlift control center. Direct delivery intertheater air mobility missions, if required, will be coordinated through the air mobility division and tasked by the Air Mobility Command tanker airlift control center. CapCom is the only person who is allowed to speak to the crew directly during a mission regarding system procedures (i.e. what to do if something fails) or there are changes to system procedures on board. As this role requires considerable technical knowledge a CapCom is always an elected astronaut. The flight director at TsUP will transmit information to the CapCom who will then be solely responsible for relaying it to the crew on board.

"CAPCOM", or Capsule Communicator, [is] a holdover from the earlier days when spacecraft were known as capsules.
