... ISCS/WAFS [International Satellite Communications System/World Area Forecast System] purpose is to provide the worldwide aviation community with operational meteorological forecasts and information about meteorological phenomena required for flight planning and safe, economic, and efficient air navigation. 2, record 1, English, - operational%20weather%20forecast
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 3 CONT
Operational weather forecasts contain information about future weather. To extract the maximum amount of value from such forecasts, they must be integrated into decision making in a rational way. This can be achieved by modelling the impact of weather on the utility of a company. 4, record 1, English, - operational%20weather%20forecast

An operational forecaster locates regions of upper level divergence by locating the divergence sector of a vorticity gradient near the LND(Level of Non-divergence). The LND is closest to the mandatory level of 500 mb, thus upper level vorticity is usually plotted on this prog. The LND is the general level that separates the low levels of the troposphere from the upper levels. Vorticity advection is best assessed near the LND. 2, record 2, English, - level%20of%20non%2Ddivergence
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 OBS
level of non-divergence ... It is generally situated at about 600 hPa, the horizontal divergence having opposite signs in the lower and upper troposphere. 4, record 2, English, - level%20of%20non%2Ddivergence
