Traditionally, administrative tribunals have been allowed to intervene in Higher Court proceedings where jurisdictional or operational matters have been in issue. However, one aspect of the IRB's [Immigration and Refugee Board] increased focus on strategic adjudication of its cases may include a need for the IRB to seek leave to intervene in more of its cases before the higher courts. The IRB's [Immigration and Refugee Board] ability to establish a consistent and coherent body of jurisprudence depends, in part, on the establishment of a coordinated and rational approach to its adjudicative function. To be most effective, each division must establish a selective and strategic approach to the adjudication of issues. This adjudication strategy is aimed at identifying the relatively small number of cases that merit the division's particular attention because they are cases that have the potential to shape the Board's jurisprudence.

A pressurizer arrangement injects additional coolant into the circuit to maintain operational pressure and to replace coolant that may be lost through a minor breach or leak in the coolant circuit. Various techniques are known for cooling the reactor core in the event of a major breach such as the rupture of a conduit in the primary coolant circuit. Neutron absorbing control rods can be inserted into the fuel array quickly to damp the nuclear reaction, for example when the sensed coolant pressure drops.

The Human Resources Council(HRC) was founded in 1992 as the Personnel Renewal Council(PRC), to be a strong voice for Heads of Human Resources and the HR community on issues affecting the strategic direction of HR management in the Public Service. The PRC changed its name to the Human Resources Council in November 1998. The HRC will continue to strengthen its current role as an independent strategic advisor. Collateral pledging and valuation--1. DCS [Debt Clearing Service] not available at all--An emergency in DCS can affect LVTS [Large Value Transfer System] in at least two different ways. Firstly, a failure in DCS could affect the ability of participants to pledge collateral for LVTS purposes. In this case the Association would need to communicate with CDS to determine the expected time for CDS [Canadian Depository for Securities Limited] to be back up and fully operational. At this point, a decision would have to be made by CDS whether to move to CDS's interim manual pledging mechanism. Any delay in the availability of the DCS pledging function of more than two(2) hours would require the move to the interim pledging mechanism.

D'abord, une panne du SCD peut empêcher les participants de remettre une garantie en nantissement aux fins du STPGV. Dans ce cas, l'Association doit communiquer avec la CDS [La Caisse canadienne de dépôt de valeurs limitée] pour déterminer dans combien de temps on prévoit que le SCD sera rétabli et pleinement opérationnel. Il appartient alors à la CDS de décider s'il convient de passer à son mécanisme manuel provisoire de remise en nantissement. Si la fonction de remise en nantissement du SCD doit demeurer inaccessible pendant plus de deux (2) heures, il faudrait passer au mécanisme provisoire.
