Record number: 9, Textual support number: 1 OBS
When a slope is loaded by the wind, there is a very general pattern to it, which results from the typical "weather pattern. "For example-the prevailing storm pattern in western Canada is from the southwest and this will deposit snow on the northeast side of the mountains(generally). When the weather pattern reverses and we get an "upslope" storm, the weather comes from the east and we will see a "reverse loading" pattern. So, basically it means a windloading pattern that is opposite to the prevailing pattern. [Reference : Grant Statham, Avalanche Specialist, Parks Canada. ] 2, record 9, English, - reverse%20loading

The interplanetary magnetic field(IMF) is a part of the Sun's magnetic field that is carried into interplanetary space by the solar wind. The interplanetary mangetic field lines are said to be "frozen in" to the solar wind plasma. Because of the Sun's rotation, the IMF, like the solar wind, travels outward in a spiral pattern that is often compared to the pattern of water sprayed from a rotating lawn sprinkler. The IMF originates in regions on the Sun where the magnetic field is "open" that is, where field lines emerging from one region do not return to a conjugate region but extend virtually indefinitely into space. The direction(polarity, sense) of the field in the Sun's northern hemisphere is opposite to that of the field in the southern hemisphere.(The polarities reverse with each solar cycle). 3, record 11, English, - interplanetory%20magnetic%20field

Another increasingly popular type of anemometer is the propeller anemometer. This anemometer is simply a very small two- or three-blade propeller, calibrated so that the revolutions per minute (rpm) corresponds to specific wind speeds. This anemometer is known as a "lift" device because it relies upon the rational lift caused by the wind on the propellers to measure the wind speed. By using two propellers held fixed at a perpendicular angle to each other, one can simultaneously measure the wind speed and direction using vector analysis. By including a third propeller positioned vertically relative to the other two, vertical wind movements also can be measured. It should be noted that the effect of variations in air density (due to temperature and/or pressure conditions) are accounted for differently in lift devices (for example, propeller anemometers) and drag devices (for example, cup anemometers). 4, record 12, English, - propeller%20anemometer

The... propellor anemometer consists of a circular array of blades, usually not less than three, mounted at one end of a horizontal shaft; the blades are free to rotate in response to wind forces acting on them. A wind vane is attached to the opposite end of the shaft. The horizontal shaft is connected to a vertical shaft which, being mounted in bearings, turns as the varying wind direction acts on the vane. 2, record 12, English, - propeller%20anemometer

In the turbulent under-laminar air layer, more or less visible roll shaped clouds(cumulus or stratocumulus) mark the different waves. When the air moisture content is high, bands of clouds which vary in thickness and length form parallel to the relief. When the air moisture content is low, they disappear completely or are limited to very mobile and short-living light clouds. These clouds are known as rotor clouds or roll clouds. Below the roll clouds, pilots will more than likely experience strong turbulence and winds opposite to the wind gradient, which can make flying generally much more interesting and perhaps hazardous. 2, record 13, English, - rotor%20clouds

... the nailing of wooden shingles and slates are entirely different. The heads of slating nails should just touch the slate and should not be driven "home" or draw the slate, but left with the heads just clearing the slate hangs on the nail. The opposite is true of wooden shingles and a man used to laying this material will invariably handle slate in the same way. As a consequence the slate, held too rigidly in place, is shattered around the nail hole, or the head of the nail crushed and eventually the slate may "ride" up over the nail and be blown off in a heavy wind... The temptation to use shingle nails instead of slating nails should be discouraged, for the slight saving in cost on the entire roof cannot approach the cost of repairs which may develop as a result of this practice. 2, record 22, English, - slate%20nail

From each gland a duct, the parotid duct, runs forward across the cheek(carnivores and small ruminants) or runs on the inside of the jaw to wind around the ventral border of the jaw to the cheek(pig, horse and ox) and opens on the inside surface of the cheek generally opposite the upper molars, the precise location depending on the species. 3, record 25, English, - parotid%20duct
