What is cold-filling? Depending on the product application, the definition of cold-filling can vary greatly. Based on our conversations with several industry experts, we will ... define cold-fill temperatures as anything below the hot-fill range of 170-195°F and the pasteurization range of approximately 165-250°F. Cold-fill can range from just above freezing on through ambient temperatures all the way up to the boundary of hot-fill. So, we’re talking about 34° F-160°F -- a tremendous expanse. 2, record 16, English, - cold%2Dfilling

Some processors opt to "cold"-fill(or ambient-fill) at slightly higher than room temperatures to prevent condensation on the packaging. Some choose to cold-fill at temperatures below 45°F to optimize flavor freshness. For still other operations and products, a "cold"-fill of 150-160°F may be the most appropriate option. Ketchup for example, might be "cold"-filled at up to 160°F. Some juices, on the other hand, might benefit from a "cold"-fill at 120-140°F. 2, record 16, English, - cold%2Dfilling

Refers to services offered in addition to the basic service package, in unscrambled form and on a discretionary basis, often using the "negative option" marketing technique-licensee delivers the basic service and discretionary tier(s) to subscriber's premise in non-encrypted form as a package deal, and the onus is on the subscriber to advise the licensee should he/she not wish to take the discretionary tier(s). Should the subscriber opt out of the discretionary tier(s), the licensee blocks(traps out) only the discretionary signals(usually located on 8 consecutive channels in the mid-band) to that household through a trapping device(a negative trap) located outside the subscriber's household, thus requiring a "truck roll". This encryption system is beneficial to a cable licensee only if there is a high penetration in discretionary service subscription. 2, record 30, English, - low%20cost%20tier

1, record 30, French, - service%20de%20base%20%C3%A9largi

According to Laurent Lesage, entomologist with Agriculture Canada, the common term "gall fly" could refer to any insect, not necessarily a "fly" in the true sense of the term, which produces galls in a specific plant. If the recipient of the French translation of this term requires a more "down-to-earth" equivalent, he or she may opt for "mouche du chardon" or "mouche des fruits", depending on the host plant of the insect. If however he or she prefers a more generic term with a scientific flavour, then "téphrite des tiges" or "téphrite gallicole" would be used. Caution must be exercised when the author of the English text is referring to a species in particular(usually the Latin term is provided, e. g. Europhora cardui), in which case a suitable French equivalent would be "téphrite du chardon" or even "mouche du chardon"(depending on the linguistic level dictated by the text), "chardon"(thistle) being the preferred host-plant of this species. Only the Latin term is official; none of the French or English terms are. 2, record 32, English, - gall%20fly
