DEF

additive colours, additive colors: Red, green and blue (RGB), the colours of light used in monitors and scanners, which give the perception of white when added together.

CONT

To illustrate how additive colors might be used in remote sensing, consider exposing three aerial photographs over an area with the same black-and-white panchromatic film but with different filters on the camera.

OBS

additive colour; additive color: terms usually used in the plurial.

DEF

DEF

A filter... made using the dye filter yellow K [and] designed for... early forms of orthochromatic and panchromatic film to lower their effective blue sensitivity.

CONT

The correction filters are light in their apparent colour. They transmit some of all the colours of light. The apparent colour of the K filters, such as K-1, K-2 and K-3, is yellow. The apparent colour of the X filters, such as X-1, X-2 and X-3 is green.

DEF

A photographic film composed of two sensitive emulsions, each is sensitive to a different color when exposed simultaneously.

CONT

Bipack films were employed in early colour processes to obtain a chromatic selection of the scene being taken. This was achieved by placing one film with orthochromatic emulsion face to face with another coated with panchromatic emulsion. The first film was tinted to act as a selecting filter so that a different region of the spectrum was recorded on each emulsion. Nowadays, the standardization of colour monopack film has made the bipack system obsolete...
