The basic premise of a season pass follows the real world concept of a sporting season ticket, and gives gamers open access to time bound events and activities in a game's world. These frequently run for about 3 months before expiring, at which point a new season pass must be redeemed. With each season, developers offer fresh content, features and customisation options to incentivise renewal. This method of monetization is very effective as it means a game can continue earning revenue long past its initial release date. The concept has a long running association with DLC(downloadable content packs) release and can be seen as a refinement and serialisation of them. 2, record 2, English, - season%20pass

Chinook is a Blackfoot word that translates to "snow eater", referring to, its ability to make winter snow packs vanish over a short time. The Chinook is a foehn wind; a generic term for all winds that have been warmed and dried by descent off a slope. The Chinook occurs over the front range of the Rocky Mountains and western plains of North America. They usually blow from the southwest to west and are quite strong, often 25-40 knots with gusts as high as 80 knots. Their effects are most strongly felt in southwestern Alberta where they funnel through the Crowsnest Pass before fanning out across southern Alberta and Saskatchewan. 3, record 10, English, - chinook

3, record 10, French, - chinook

In parts of the United States, real estate is customarily sold through a process known as an escrow closing. In such a closing, the buyer and seller do not meet face to face for an exchange of documents and consideration; rather, the purchaser deposits with the escrow agent the agreed purchase price and such other documents as may be required, while the seller deposits with the escrow agent the executed deed to the property and related documents. In addition, if financing by a lender is to be provided, the mortgage or deed of trust and its related instruments are also deposited with the escrow agent. When the agent has received all of the necessary documents and cash, it will consummate the transaction and title will pass to the purchaser. Between the time that a document or cash is deposited with the escrow agent and the transaction is consummated, the items deposited are considered to be "in escrow".("The Arnold Encyclopedia of Real Estate", 1978, p. 269) 1, record 24, English, - escrow%20closing

In the bottleshop of a brewery, returned empty bottles go through washers in which they receive a thorough cleaning. After washing, the bottles are inspected electronically and visually, and pass on to the rotary filler. Some of these machines can fill up to 1, 200 bottles per minute. A "crowning" machine integrated with the filler, places caps on the bottles. The filled bottles may then pass through a "tunnel" pasteurizer-often 75 feet from end to end and able to hold 15, 000 bottles-where the temperature of the beer is raised about 60 degrees Celsius for a sufficient length of time to provide biological stability, then cooled to room temperature. 2, record 26, English, - tunnel%20pasteuriser

White Pass and Yukon Railway, at 175 km long, was the steepest pitched railway in Canada. Work began in 1898, at the height of the Klondike Gold Rush, to provide transportation from Skagway, Alaska, to Whitehorse, Yukon Territory. Building of the narrow gauge railway was an extremely difficult engineering feat, requiring extensive blasting, tunnels and precarious bridging. Thirty-five of the 35 000 men who worked on construction were killed. The summit of White Pass was reached in February 1899 and the "last spike" was driven at Carcross on 29 July 1900. The gold was exhausted by the time work was complete, though the line struggled along carrying passengers and freight. The mining boom in the Yukon revived the railway, as lead-zinc was hauled from Faro, Mayo and Clinton Creek. The shutdown of the WP&Y in 1982, as a result of the collapse of the mining boom, deprived Whitehorse of some employment and its sea rail link. 1, record 32, English, - White%20Pass%20%26%20Yukon%20Route%20Railway

1, record 32, French, - White%20Pass%20%26%20Yukon%20Route%20Railway

... in 1894, the countries of Europe agreed to synchronize their watches(this means that they show the same time), and to use a unified indication of time. Since then, in continental Europe, with a few exceptions, you no longer have to correct your watch when you pass from one country to another; they all use the same time, which is referred to as Central European Time(CET).... During recent years, it has been decided to shift the time during the summer period. Thus, each year from spring(late March) to autumn, time used in Central Europe is the Central European Summer Time(CEST) which is equal to Central European Time plus 1 hour. 2, record 39, English, - Central%20European%20time

There is one class of goods, it seems, in respect of which there may be a sale even though they are not existing at the time of the contract. The legal property in such goods can pass to the buyer without any need to conform to the provisions of the Act relating to the transfer of property. Such goods are those which have "potential existence". The distinction existed at common law between future goods to be manufactured or acquired by the seller, the position with respect to which has been considered above, and future goods in which the seller had what was called "a potential property". Such goods comprehended things which were the natural produce or expected increase of something already owned or possessed by the seller, for example, hay to be grown in a field, wool to be grown on sheep owned by the seller, or milk to be yielded by the seller's cows in the coming month. 1, record 46, English, - potential%20property

HDTV is not yet a fully designed standard. There are currently many different "standards" available for broadcasters to choose from. Currently, no programming is available in HDTV, and it is not expected to begin in volume in Canada for quite some time. While we will be supporting HDTV, it is still too soon for specific information to be available. The Digital Cable Terminal is designed to pass high bandwidth HDTV data to a customer owned HDTV decoder, which then will feed a 16 : 9 HDTV ready monitor with RGB(Red-Green-Blue). 1, record 55, English, - HDTV%20decoder

Contact Stabilization. Microorganisms consume organics in the contact tank. Raw wastewater flows into the contact tank where it is aerated and mixed with bacteria. Soluble materials pass through bacterial cell walls, while insoluble materials stick to the outside. Solids settle out later and are wasted from the system or returned to a stabilization tank. Microbes digest organics in the stabilization tank, and are then recycled back to the contact tank, because they need more food. Detention time is minimized, so the size of the contact tank can be smaller. Volume requirements for the stabilization tank are also smaller because the basin receives only concentrated return sludge, there is no incoming raw wastewater. Often no primary clarifier before the contact tank due to the rapid uptake of soluble and insoluble food. 3, record 57, English, - contact%20stabilization

Asset Accounting is a sub-ledger accounting module in Financial Accounting, in which all business activities for fixed assets are recorded. The Asset Accounting(FI-AA) component is used for managing and supervising fixed assets with SAP R/3 System. Financial Accounting serves as a subsidiary ledger to the FI General Ledger, providing detailed information on transactions involving fixed assets. As a result of the integration system, FI-AA transfers data directly to and from other systems i. e., it is possible to post from the Materials Management(MM) component directly to FI-AA. When an asset is purchased or produced in-house, it can directly post the invoice receipt or goods receipt, or the withdrawal from the warehouse, to assets in FI-AA. At the same time, it can pass on depreciation and interest directly to Financial Accounting(FI) and Cost Accounting(CO). From the Plant Maintenance(PM) component, it can settle maintenance activities that require capitalization to assets. 1, record 60, English, - Asset%20Accounting

1, record 60, French, - Comptabilit%C3%A9%20des%20immobilisations

The most efficient method of verifying the integrity of a new existing sewer line is through low pressure air testing. To test a line to meet acceptance standards, the line is plugged at both manholes using the isolator Leak Locator Pluggs. The line is then pressurized using the isolator Air Test Panel to control both the plug inflation and test section pressures. To pass the acceptance test, the sewer must retain a specified air pressure for a specific period of time. The roll-out, or running, pass is usually a short pass-five or six yards-and can be «thrown» into the flat easily. It is usually a true option run-pass which helps offset a strong pass rush from the inside. Although it doesn’t take a great passer to execute this play, the roll-out pass does require a considerable amount of time and practice to perfect. The quarterback sprints out at controlled speed, while holding the ball in a «ready position» and looks immediately to the area he is running toward. 1, record 70, English, - roll%2Dout%20pass

1, record 70, French, - passe%20hors%20l%27aile

Clogging, blocking and blinding. If the geotextile pore openings are slightly too small, then there will be insufficient initial wash-through of fine soil particles to promote the rapid formation of an efficient graded filter in the adjacent soil. Where the geotextile pore openings are even smaller, then there is a serious risk that either blinding, severe blocking or severe clogging will develop with time. Blocking is where soil particles resting on the surface of the geotextile, either totally or partially obstruct the pore openings.... Blinding is a special form of severe blocking, where the soil grading permits the suffusion of fine soil particles which are too large to pass through the geotextile.... Where the size of many of the soil particles is very close to that of the geotextile pore openings, then they are likely to enter the pores and become trapped within the geotextile. This can cause severe clogging which is most likely to arise in thick non-woven geotextiles with a complex pore structure. 3, record 71, English, - clogging

Linear proton accelerators. The design principle applied in linear accelerators for protons was originated by Luis Alvarez at Berkeley in 1946. It is based on the formation of standing electromagnetic waves in a long cylindrical metal tank, or cavity, as it is sometimes called. In the design that has been adopted, the electric field is parallel to the axis of the tank. Most of these accelerators operate at frequencies of about 200 MHz. During the time required for a proton to traverse one of these tanks, the accelerating electric fields undergo many reversal of direction. In Alvarez’ design, the decelerating effect of the field during the intervals when it opposes the motion of the particles is prevented by installing on the axis of the tank a number of "drift tubes".... The electric field is zero inside the drift tubes, and if their lengths are properly chosen, the protons cross the gap between adjacent drift tubes when the direction of the field produces acceleration and are shielded by the drift tubes when the field in the tank would decelerate them. The length of the drift tubes are proportional to the speeds of the particles that pass through them. 1, record 72, English, - linear%20proton%20accelerator
