Les sociétés françaises et belges peuvent procéder à des augmentations de capital par incorporation de réserves, auquel cas elles émettent des actions gratuites ou actions de bonus. Le droit rattaché aux anciennes actions et procurant aux actionnaires l'avantage de recevoir des actions gratuites (c'est-à-dire émises à un prix nul) porte le nom de «droit d'attribution».
