Irreversible alteration, generally deterioration, of the characteristics of paper or board in the course of time. 2, record 8, English, - aging
Record number: 8, Textual support number: 1 CONT
The greatest determinant of the condition of paper remains the integrity of the cellulose fibres. The cellulose polymer is prone to chemical and physical damage that weakens the fibre network on a submicroscopic level, eventually manifesting in visible degradation. The principle mechanism of deterioration is chain scission(the long polymer is reduced to shorter and shorter segments) ;as this happens, the paper begins to lose its physical strength and may become discoloured. As the aging of paper decreases the length of the underlying cellulose chains and therefore the paper fibres, papers that started with longer fibres can undergo further aging before losing mechanical strength. 3, record 8, English, - aging

Altération irréversible, qui est généralement une détérioration, des caractéristiques du papier ou du carton, au cours du temps. 2, record 8, French, - vieillissement
Record number: 8, Textual support number: 1 CONT
3, record 8, French, - vieillissement

Because there is no cure for rheumatoid arthritis(RA), the goal of treatment is to put the disease into remission. A category of drugs with some ability to do this is the disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs(DMARDs). To be designated a DMARD, a drug must change the course of RA for at least 1 year as evidenced by one of the following : sustained improvement in physical function, decreased inflammatory synovitis, slowing or prevention of structural joint damage. 3, record 13, English, - disease%2Dmodifying%20antirheumatic%20drug

Crystal methamphetamine is a colorless, odorless form of d-methamphetamine, a powerful and highly addictive synthetic (man-made) stimulant. Crystal methamphetamine typically resembles small fragments of glass or shiny blue-white "rocks" of various sizes. Like powdered methamphetamine (another form of d-methamphetamine), crystal methamphetamine is abused because of the long-lasting euphoric effects it produces. Crystal methamphetamine, however, typically has a higher purity level and may produce even longer-lasting and more intense physiological effects than the powdered form of the drug. 2, record 36, English, - crystal%20methamphetamine%20hydrochloride

Hard wheat flours usually have much higher starch damage values than soft wheat flours. Starch granules in soft wheat endosperm are loosely bound in the kernel and easily released in milling; on the other hand, starch granules in hard wheat endosperm are firmly bound in a much stronger protein matrix and therefore more liable to damage when endosperm fragments are reduced during milling. 1, record 38, English, - hard%20wheat%20flour

This specification covers asphalt-saturated organic felt for use as an underlayment in steep slope roofing. The objective of this specification is to provide a finished product that will lie flat and resist wrinkling, puckering, and shrinking when left exposed to the sun, rain, frost, or dew for a period of two weeks after application. In the process of manufacture, a single thickness of organic dry felt shall be uniformly saturated with an asphaltic saturant and the felt shall be produced principally from organic fibers. The surface of the felt shall be uniform and relatively smooth and upon splitting or tearing on the bias, the felt shall appear free of lumps or particles of foreign substances. The material shall conform to the prescribed physical requirements such as tear strength, pliability, loss on heating, liquid water transmission, breaking strength, and dimensional stability, and to the specified dimension and mass requirements such as roll width, roll area, net mass of saturated felt, net mass of desaturated felt, saturation, moisture, and saturating efficiency. The finished product shall not crack nor be so sticky as to cause tearing or other damage upon being unrolled. 6, record 42, English, - asphalt%20saturated%20felt

4, record 42, French, - feutre%20impr%C3%A9gn%C3%A9%20d%27asphalte

A condition in an axial-flow compressor in which one or more stages of rotor blades fail to pass air smoothly to the succeeding stages. A stall condition is caused by a pressure ratio that is incompatible with the engine rpm. Compressor stall will be indicated by a rise in exhaust temperature, and if allowed to continue, may result in flameout and physical damage to the engine. An rpm change up and down will also usually result. 2, record 65, English, - compressor%20stall

Material injury resulting to the interest of the plaintiff... damage is the gist of the liability. Merely exposing someone to danger is not an actionable wrong, if the hazard is averted in time.
