CONT

Ring-spun and open-end yarns were made from these cottons. Various fiber and yarn properties were measured before and after wax removal using... the West Point Cohesion tester... The correlations between wax content, fiber properties and yarn properties were analyzed... Cotton wax reduced fiber-to-fiber cohesion by about twofold and fiber breakage more than tenfold.

DEF

Specific rearrangement including the splitting of a chromosome into three segments, which is followed by a very particular reorganization: the segment situated between the two breaks is placed in one of the two other segments of this chromosome after a third break.

CONT

Shifts are three-break chromosome rearrangements and involve movements of the chromosome region lying between two of the breakage points into the position of a third breakage point on the same chromosome and subsequent reunion of all three breaks.

DEF

Subject field(s)

DEF

Phenomenon which brings about a loss of chromosome material, i.e. a structural modification without any change in the quantity of this material. Breaks may also lead to complex rearrangements.

CONT

(Specification of chromosome rearrangements) The only exception to this rule involves certain three-break rearrangements in which part of one chromosome is inserted at a point of breakage in another chromosome.

DEF
