The concept of substantial equivalence is key step in the safety assessment process. However, it is not a safety assessment in itself; rather it represents the starting point which is used to structure the safety assessment of a new food relative to its conventional counterpart. This concept is used to identify similarities and differences between the new food and its conventional counterpart. It aids in the identification of potential safety and nutritional issues and is considered the most appropriate strategy to date for safety assessment of foods derived from recombinant-DNA plants. The safety assessment carried out in this way does not imply absolute safety of the new product; rather, it focuses on assessing the safety of any indentified differences so that the safety of the new product can be considered relative to its conventional counterpart. 2, record 7, English, - food%20safety%20assessment

Time-lapse(or 4D) seismic is a reservoir monitoring technology that has matured to the point where it can be considered a reliable reservoir surveillance tool. By analyzing differences of multiple seismic surveys acquired over a producing reservoir and by integration with conventional reservoir monitoring tools, 4D seismic data can provide valuable insight on dynamic reservoir properties such as fluid saturation, pressure, and temperature. Many published case studies demonstrate that 4D seismic technology can optimize reservoir management and improve production efficiency. 3, record 9, English, - 4D%20seismic%20technology

As an oilfield can carry on producing oil and/or gas for more than 50 years, reservoirs can also benefit from regular check-ups to stay healthy and productive. One current proteomic tool for visualizing and quantitating all proteins expressed in a ological system at a given time is two-dimensional gel electrophoresis(2-DGE). As originally described by Patrick O’Farrell for analyzing Escherichia coli proteins in 1975, 2-DGE combines the electrophoretic separation of denatured proteins bysoelectric point charge differences in the first dimension with separation based on molecular size differences in the second dimension. The proteins, which can be detected using protein-specific stains, appear as constellations of spots in the 2-D space of the gel. Over the 20-year history of 2-DGE, numerous algorithms have been developed for comparing 2-DGE patterns and quantitatively analyzing protein abundance. 2, record 12, English, - two%2Ddimensional%20gel%20electrophoresis

In a long synthetic aperture (array), SAR focusing involves the removal and compensation of path length differences from the antenna to the target on the ground. 2, record 13, English, - SAR%20focusing
Record number: 13, Textual support number: 2 CONT
The main advantage of a focused synthetic aperture is that it increases its array length over those radar signals that can be processed, and thus increases potential SAR resolution at any range. SAR focusing is a necessary process when the length of a synthetic array is a significant fraction of the range to ground being imaged, as the lines-of-sight(range) from a particular point on the ground to each individual element of the array differ in distance. These range differences, or path length differences, of the radar signals can affect image quality. In a focused SAR image these phase errors can be compensated for by applying a phase correction to the return signal at each synthetic aperture element. Focusing errors may be introduced by unknown or uncorrected platform motion. In an unfocused SAR image, the usable synthetic aperture length is quite limited. 2, record 13, English, - SAR%20focusing

The Turam method [of electromagnetic exploration differs from the Sundberg method] in that the ratio of field intensities at two points is observed rather than the intensity at a single point. As with the Sundberg method, two frequencies within the 100-to 800-Hz range are employed. A cable several kilometers long is laid out as a source parallel to the expected strike and is grounded at both ends. Measuring coils are read in pairs along lines perpendicular to the cable, the spacing between them generally being about 25 m. In-phase and out-of-phase ratios are observed as well as amplitude ratios and phase-angle differences. 1, record 16, English, - Turam%20method
