Omphalocele(exomphalos) is a developmental defect of the anterior abdominal wall in which the abdominal musculature, fascia, and skin are absent in the midline at the point of insertion of the umbilical cord. Abdominal organs extrude anteriorly through the defect and are covered by a saclike membrane consisting of amnion externally and parietal peritoneum internally. Omphalocele results from failure of the intestine to return to the body cavity after its normal herniation into the umbilical stalk during embryonic life. Omphaloceles vary in size; the defect may be a few centimeters in diameter, or most of the anterior abdominal wall may be lacking. Depending on the size of the defect, small intestine, liver, spleen, and pancreas may be in the sac. 2, record 1, English, - omphalocele

While scour can occur slowly over time, flood events can cause rapid scouring, to the point of structure failure. As scour alters the elevation of the riverbed at a pier, a monitoring system can indicate when a bridge becomes structurally deficient and dangerous due to sediment erosion. While monitoring does not make a structure less susceptible to scour, a real-time alert can be sent out if a bridge becomes scour critical and must be closed. 1, record 3, English, - scour%20monitoring

... a major container failure, into two or more pieces, at a moment in time when the contained liquid is at a temperature well above its boiling point at normal atmospheric pressure. A typical example is that of a propane tank engulfed in a fire.... When the metal fails, the liquid is exposed to atmospheric pressure and is well above its boiling point. Under certain conditions this results in a violent explosion. Once containment is lost, the liquid inside the tank boils, since it is no longer under pressure, and gives the first two letters of the phenomenon-Boiling Liquid. As the liquid boils, vapour is formed. The specific volume of the vapour is much larger than that of the liquid, so there is expansion-Expanding Vapour. There is an Explosion because there is a shock wave and the container is torn apart. 1, record 6, English, - boiling%20liquid%20expanding%20vapour%20explosion

BLEVE. [...] Rock bursts. In areas of very deep mining, as additional weight is supported by the pillars on the coal face, stresses may so build up that the yield point is reached. If the coal pillars, the roof, or the floor are able to yield gradually, the effects of the stresses are relieved by floor heaving, or by pillar or roof failure. Where the coal or the associated rocks are particularly strong and depths are much above average, these stresses may be relieved by rock bursts, which are relatively violent outbursts of the coal into the rooms and entries. Frequently, a large volume of gas(usually methane) is suddenly released during a rock burst in a coal mine. 8, record 8, English, - rock%20burst
Record number: 8, Textual support number: 1 OBS
for "coal burst" : Rock bursts and "coal bursts" in coal mines are generally designated by the term "bumps" or "bounces". for "air blast" : In former years rock bursts were sometimes referred to as "air blasts". There are no convincing arguments for any one cutoff score; rather, the content, context, and type of student will determine the passing level. It will also depend on your intentions for the test. A mastery test will require a very high pass mark, while an ordinary quiz or classroom test is likely to be less stringent. Collateral pledging and valuation--1. DCS [Debt Clearing Service] not available at all--An emergency in DCS can affect LVTS [Large Value Transfer System] in at least two different ways. Firstly, a failure in DCS could affect the ability of participants to pledge collateral for LVTS purposes. In this case the Association would need to communicate with CDS to determine the expected time for CDS [Canadian Depository for Securities Limited] to be back up and fully operational. At this point, a decision would have to be made by CDS whether to move to CDS's interim manual pledging mechanism. Any delay in the availability of the DCS pledging function of more than two(2) hours would require the move to the interim pledging mechanism. 1, record 33, English, - interim%20manual%20pledging%20mechanism
