[The researchers] propose a Lyapunov theory based linguistic reinforcement learning(RL) framework for stable tracking control of robotic manipulators. … Controlling robot manipulators is an extremely challenging and complex control problem due to their highly nonlinear and coupled dynamics. Flawless modeling of robotic manipulators is an equally daunting task; forcing the designer to make idealizing assumptions with consequent modeling errors. This has prompted designers to go for model free approaches. RL has emerged as an alternative technique to design high performance controllers for robot manipulators. [The] Lyapunov theory offers a powerful platform for designing controllers that are guaranteed to be stable and can handle model uncertainties and parameter variations. 2, record 2, English, - Lyapunov%20stability%20theory

All storytellers were encouraged to tell in their first language, with a summary or full translation in English. The first device used to locate submarines is called Asdic(named after the Ati-Submarine Detection Investigation Committee) and was invented during World War I by British, American, and French Scientists.... There is also a considerable amount of confusion about the origins of the term "ASDIC". To quote Willem Hackmann from Seek and Strike, "The Oxford University Press was prompted on 11 December 1939 to ask the Admiralty about its etymology after Churchill used the term in the House of Commons. After a certain amount of inter-departmental discussion, they were told that the word was the acronym of Allied Submarine Detection Investigation Committee. This body was formed during the war of 1914-1918, and organized much research and experimentation for the detection of submarines, however, no committee bearing this name has been found in the Admiralty archives. The dream of a rain forest saved by children began in 1987 at a small primary school in rural Sweden. The study of tropical forests prompted nine-year-old Roland Tiensuu to ask what he could do to keep the rain forest and the animals who live in it safe from destruction? A campaign raised money to help the Monteverde Conservation League buy and save threatened rain forest in Costa Rica. Roland and his classmates raised enough money to buy 15 acres(6 hectares) of rain forest. Costa Rican and international staff and volunteers work throughout the zone in forest preservation, reforestation, environmental education, and sustainable development. Called Bosque Eterno de los Ninos(Children's Eternal Forest), it is the first international children's rain forest in the world, a rain forest being saved by and for children, for the planet itself, for now and for tomorrow. 1, record 34, English, - Children%27s%20Rain%20Forest

La Cour suprême du Canada a cassé hier une disposition de la loi interdisant à un accusé d'agression sexuelle d'évoquer dans sa défense le comportement sexuel passé d'une victime. The SEMP ship Yamato 1 is packed with the huge power and refrigeration systems needed to run it. A ten-man crew squeezes into a small cockpit at the front. Despite these limitations, the Japanese are hoping that SEMP systems will become smaller and more powerful leading to a new generation of fast passenger ferries and cargo ships. Unlike today's ships they will be highly manoeuvrable : by reversing the polarity of both thrusters, a SEMP ship should be able to come rapidly to a halt. Reversing just one drive would make it turn on a yen. It would also be eerily quiet. This has prompted the America's IEEE to try to fit SEMP drives into a submarine-echoes, as it were, of the "caterpillar drive" used by the silent submarine in the film "The Hunt for Red October". 1, record 52, English, - SEMP%20ship

The demands of high-speed operation led to the development of no-draw presses which provide support to lightweight sheets throughout the pressing operation. A representative arrangement utilizing a double-felted nip is shown in Figure 16-82. Sheet marking problems and suction roll failures on some wide machines prompted the development of alternate no-draw configurations using separate rolls for the first and second press nips. 1, record 53, English, - no%2Ddraw%20press
