The first grip type is the prone grip, sometimes referred to as an "overhand grip"... For the prone grip, the palm faces away from the body or down. So a push-up or a chest press is an example of a prone grip.

La prise en pronation [...] Cette prise se pratique avec les paumes dirigées vers le sol lorsque les bras sont à l'horizontal. Si les bras sont dirigés vers le sol, la paume est alors tournée vers soi. À l'inverse, si les bras sont tendus vers le haut, les paumes pointent vers l'extérieur. Lors de la prise en pronation sur une barre, les pouces se font toujours face et sont donc dirigés vers l'intérieur.
