Typically, maple syrup is finished when the syrup reaches 219°F. The long answer is that maple syrup is finished at 7°F above boiling water. In most places, water will boil at 212°F, but sometimes this number is different based on elevation and other environmental factors. So, to be more accurate, measure what temperature water boils at in your kitchen or on your propane burner, and add 7. At that temperature, your maple sap will officially be maple syrup. 2, record 2, English, - finish

SSDS is characterized by sudden and fatal cardiac arrhythmias, primarily associated with the abuse of volatile solvents like butane, propane, and aerosol sprays. The exact mechanism of SSDS is not fully understood. Still, it is believed that these substances sensitize the heart to certain triggers, leading to irregular heart rhythms that can be life-threatening. It is crucial to emphasize that SSDS is a rare but grave outcome of inhalant abuse, underscoring the high risks associated with these substances. 2, record 3, English, - sudden%20sniffing%20death%20syndrome

... a major container failure, into two or more pieces, at a moment in time when the contained liquid is at a temperature well above its boiling point at normal atmospheric pressure. A typical example is that of a propane tank engulfed in a fire.... When the metal fails, the liquid is exposed to atmospheric pressure and is well above its boiling point. Under certain conditions this results in a violent explosion. Once containment is lost, the liquid inside the tank boils, since it is no longer under pressure, and gives the first two letters of the phenomenon-Boiling Liquid. As the liquid boils, vapour is formed. The specific volume of the vapour is much larger than that of the liquid, so there is expansion-Expanding Vapour.

3, record 36, Spanish, - gas%20de%20cocina

Today all hot air balloon burners have one thing in common. They use liquid propane as their fuel source. When using liquid propane the burner has to serve a dual purpose. First it must convert the liquid propane to a vapor, so it can be burnt at the orifices to produce the heat that makes the balloon fly. Achieving this function is where each balloon manufacturer differs in burner design. If you compare the shape of the Avian burner coils to other manufacturers, you’ll notice it has a larger circular radius with few 90 degree bends in its preheat coils. The reason we design our burner coil this way is to utilize a very basic principle of fuel flow. "The fewer the restrictions to flow, such as tight bends in tubing, in the complete burner system, the greater the pressure will be when it is released at the burner orifices, giving a higher BTU [British thermal unit] output. 2, record 37, French, - serpentin%20de%20br%C3%BBleur

Vapex (vapor extraction) is a relatively new process for the recovery of heavy oil and bitumen that involves the injection of a vaporized solvent to reduce the viscosity of the oil. The diluted oil is then allowed to drain into a production well under the influence of gravity. It is a potentially economic process that can be applied to reservoirs that are not suitable for thermal recovery method. In addition, the process has the potential to sequester greenhouse gases, and is capable of in situ upgrading of heavy oil. 3, record 39, English, - vapour%20extraction

The VAPEX process uses saturated hydrocarbon solvent vapour(ethane, propane or butane) in conjunction with horizontal wells to mobilize and recover viscous oils and bitumens from hydrocarbon deposits in which the bottom water zone(aquifer) is used to deliver the solvent vapour to the base of the reservoir. The process involves injecting a hydrocarbon solvent into the reservoir along with a displacement gas to mobilize the hydrocarbons in the reservoir and move them toward the production well. 8, record 39, English, - vapour%20extraction

In a direct hydrogen fuel cell ..., hydrogen from the fuel tank is supplied to the fuel cells, where it combines with oxygen from an air compressor. An electrode coated with a catalyst splits the hydrogen into electrons and protons. The movement of the electrons generates electricity, which is sent to the traction inverter module. The traction inverter module converts the electricity for use by the motor/transaxle, which transforms the electric energy into the mechanical energy that turns the wheels. Supercritical fluid technology is based on properties of compounds when they are placed under pressure and temperature conditions beyond their critical point. Supercritical fluids have a viscosity close to gases, a density close to liquids, and a high diffusivity. The state changes gaseous/supercritical and liquid/supercritical occur in a continuous way. Supercritical fluids have then a tunable solvent power : solubility of compounds in the fluid is correlated to pressure and temperature. Several supercritical fluids have been studied, including propane and water, but the most widely used is supercritical CO2. 2, record 53, English, - supercritical

In 1992, Greenpeace initiated the development of Greenfreeze, an ozone and climate safe refrigeration technology. Greenfreeze uses a mixture of propane(R290) and isobutane(R60Oa), or isobutane as a pure gas, for the refrigerant, and cyclopentane for blowing the insulation foam... The energy efficiency of hydrocarbon refrigerators has proved to be as good as, or better than those cooled with CFCs or HFC-134a. Similarly, the efficiency of cyclopentane blown insulation foam compares favourably with foam blown with HCFC-14b. Greenfreeze refrigerators are technologically reliable. They use mineral oil for lubricant, and unlike the HFC-134a technology, present no great difficulties in servicing. 1, record 56, English, - greenfreeze%20refrigerator

It is important to make a distinction between the vapor pressure of a liquid ... and the pressure of a vapor. The vapor pressure of a pure liquid is a unique and characteristic property of the liquid and depends only upon the temperature. A gas or vapor may, on the other hand, exert any pressure within reason, depending upon the volume to which it is confined, provided it is not in contact with its liquid phase. 9, record 66, English, - vapor%20pressure

High tunnels are not conventional greenhouses. They are covered with one layer of 6-mil greenhouse-grade polyethylene, and are ventilated by manually rolling up the sides each morning and rolling them down in early evening. There is no permanent heating system although it is advisable to have a standby portable propane unit to protect against unexpected below-freezing temperatures. There are no electrical connections. The only external connection is a water supply for trickle irrigation. Halide detectors are propane burners with a copper grid or ring in the flame. Air is drawn into the flame through a hose that can be directed to various areas under fumigation. If halide vapour, such as carbon tetrachloride or methyl bromide, contacts the hot copper ring, it reacts to form a blue-coloured copper halide. The intensity of this blue colour indicates the amount of gas present. This is a fairly sensitive method that registers the presence of a halide gas but does not indicate phosphine gas. 1, record 84, English, - halide%20detector

1, record 84, French, - halog%C3%A9nom%C3%A8tre

Record number: 93, Textual support number: 1 CONT
An inspirator mixer, does not require a blower but does require high pressure gas,(can be dangerous) and is not very economical or efficient. The tip or nozzle is usually always a flame retention type tip. The reason this burner requires high pressure gas is that the gas needs to be moving at a high rate of speed in order to induce enough air for proper combustion. It is usually used for propane and in a situation where no electricity is available. If you have high pressure gas it is recommended that you use a regulator and switch to an aspirator mixer type system. 3, record 93, English, - inspirator%20mixer

2, record 94, French, - d%C3%A9placement%20par%20phase%20miscible
