A supply facility in which base or station second line stocks are positioned in or adjacent to a major user wherever activity and essentiality of prompt response to requirements necessitates such action. Materiel held in supply groups remains under the control of the base or station supply officer and constitutes a part of the base or station assets. Supply groups may hold total base or station assets of certain ranges of materiel, e. g. repair parts, or may hold a portion of the base or station assets.
