Penetration diving. In technical penetration diving, there are broadly two approaches. The conventional approach involves the use of continuous guidelines laid from a wreck reel, tied just outside the entrance point, just inside the entrance point, and at regular intervals inside(to mitigate the risk of a cut line, or a "line trap"... An alternative approach, popularised by deep wreck divers in the American Northeast, is referred to as "progressive penetration. "Progressive penetration eschews the use of reels, but the diver makes several successive penetrations, each successively deeper than the last, memorising the layout for both the inward and outward journeys. 3, record 4, English, - penetration%20dive

A switch point derail …, sometimes referred to as a split switch derail, is a track switch installed at the derail location. The switch point derail can be operated as a power derail or as a conventional hand-operated derail. In both cases, the switch is activated from outside the track just as a regular track switch would be. However, there is no track extending from the diverging route. Record number: 12, Textual support number: 1 OBS
Energetech Australia is building a prototype electricity generator based on wave power on the breakwater at Port Kembla in New South Wales. A submerged chamber is open below the water level. When the waves rise up around the chamber, the water inside the chamber rises and falls with the waves. This compresses and decompresses air above the water in the chamber, creating airflow which drives a turbine. The turbines work with the air flowing in both directions. The blades change angle, depending on the speed and direction of the airflow … An ocean wall in the shape of a parabola concentrates the wave energy onto a central point where the power station is located … The amount of converted energy depends on the wind speed, the time the wind blows over the waves, and the distance it covers. During a wave's voyage, it shapes into a more regular wave, commonly referred to as a swell. At ocean shores, swells are very regular and discernable, even when the sea is calm. 1, record 12, English, - wave%20energy%20breakwater

Long-hole blasting. This method of blasting, employing diamond drills or extension steel drills with tungsten carbide bits, is being applied increasingly to ore winning operations where conditions are suitable. The essential requirements from the practical and economic point of view are :(1) a large ore body or wide regular vein;(2) a strong country rock;(3) a good parting between the ore and the rock to avoid undue contamination of the ore. Holes to take up to 2-inch diameter cartridges may be drilled. Since the drilling of long holes is relatively expensive, high-strength, high-density gelatinous explosives are usually employed so that the maximum burden can be placed on each hole. For this reason also, the largest diameter of explosive cartridge that can be loaded into the holes should be used to obtain the greatest possible loading density. 4, record 18, English, - long%2Dhole%20blasting

In case of data loss, the system can be restored as efficiently as possible. As part of the backup procedure, the master disks for all software(including the operating system) should be write-protected and stored in a safe place. symmetry": In general, a figure or expression is said to be symmetric if parts of it may be interchanged without changing the whole. ... A right circular cone has an axis of symmetry. A geometric figure has n-fold rotational symmetry about an axis if a rotation of 360°/n is a symmetry of the figure. Thus an axis of symmetry can be a rotational axis. For example, an axis through the centre of a square perpendicular to the plane is a 4-fold axis since a rotation of 360°/4 produces an identical figure; a diagonal is a 2-fold axis. 2, record 25, English, - n%2Dfold%20axis

Regular savings accounts pay higher rates of interest than daily interest accounts-usually about three-quarters of a percentage point higher. Interest is calculated on the minimum monthly balance in your account, but the interest is usually only paid twice a year. If you deposited $1, 000 in your account on the first day of the month, then withdrew $250 on the 15th and another $250 on the 25th, let's say, you would earn interest for that month on $500-the minimum amount in your account during the month. 1, record 28, English, - minimum%20monthly%20balance
