In Chinese calligraphy, it is a style that falls somewhere between the regular script and cursive script. It is not as square as the official script, nor as rounded as the seal script. En calligraphie chinoise, style qui se situe entre l'écriture régulière et l'écriture cursive. Elle n'est pas aussi carrée que l'écriture des scribes, mais elle n'est pas non plus aussi ronde que l'écriture des sceaux. Les traits sont liés et certaines simplifications sont admises. En somme le calligraphe relie les différents éléments du caractère en recourant à une sorte d'exécution continue au cours de laquelle le pinceau ne quitte pas la feuille.
