A process in which, after lay-up, winding, or wrapping, an entire assembly is placed in a heated autoclave, usually at 340 to 1380 kPa(50 to 200 psi). Additional pressure permits higher density and improved removal of volatiles from the resin. Lay-up is usually vacuum bagged with a bleeder and release cloth.

OBS

Bag moulding is also called autoclave moulding, pressure bag moulding, vacuum bag moulding, depending on the means used to force the bag against the material.

[Le moulage en autoclave] consiste à compacter renfort et résine sur un moule rigide par l'intermédiaire d'une membrane déformable formant avec l'outillage un sac étanche. Une pression de quelques mégapascals est appliquée sur la membrane par l'intermédiaire d'un fluide (air, azote, vapeur d'eau ou eau) qui apporte en même temps la chaleur nécessaire à la polymérisation de la résine. Le moule est placé dans une enceinte fermée soumise à une pression interne qui correspond à la pression appliquée sur la membrane.

Les termes moulage au sac en autoclave, moulage au sac sous pression et moulage au sac sous vide sont applicables suivant la manière utilisée pour appliquer le sac contre la matière.
