RETROGRADE FLUID [2 records]

Record 1 2011-02-21

English

Subject field(s)
  • Mineralogy
  • Geochemistry
  • Erosion and Weathering (Geol.)
CONT

Microthermometric data indicate that the prograde and retrograde mineral assemblages were formed by fluids of different composition, a CO2-barren aqueous saline fluid and a H2O-OO2-type fluid, respectively.

CONT

Photomicrographs (plane-polarized light) of Sudbury Breccia matrix showing the development of the diagnostic retrograde assemblage.

OBS

retrogressive assemblage: term used at Natural Resources Canada - Earth Sciences Sector.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Minéralogie
  • Géochimie
  • Érosion et corrosion (Géologie)
OBS

association rétromorphosée : terme en usage à Ressources naturelles Canada - Secteur des sciences de la Terre.

Record 2 2005-01-31

English

Subject field(s)
  • Geochemistry
  • Erosion and Weathering (Geol.)
CONT

This type of skarn copper deposit lacks the intense stockwork fracturing typical of porphyry deposits, resulting in the restriction of retrograde mineral assemblages to vug fillings, contact zones, and widely spaced, structurally controlled fluid conduits.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Géochimie
  • Érosion et corrosion (Géologie)
CONT
