Rome, Italy. Bearing these objectives in mind, the Italian and Afghan governments have decided to convene an International Conference, jointly chaired by the United Nations. The Conference on the Rule of Law in Afghanistan, cited in the UNSC Resolution 1746/2007, will be held in Rome on 2 and 3 July, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Conference, which is intended to produce tangible results, will lay down a detailed strategy for the future. This will need to be backed up by the commitment of the Afghan and international players together with new forms of financing the administration of Justice.
