Rome, 27 August 2002--The World Food Summit : five years later, whcih ended 13 June, called for an international alliance to accelerate action to reduce world hunger. It also unanimously adopted a declaration calling on the international community to fulfil and earlier pledge to cut the number of hungary people to about 400 million by 2015. That pledge was made at the original World Food Summit in 1996-the largest-ever global gathering of leaders to address hunger and food security-and progress towards it remained disappointingly slow. 1, record 2, English, - World%20Food%20Summit

1, record 2, French, - Sommet%20mondial%20de%20l%27alimentation
